Is it normal for cruise ships to arrive early?

We were supposed to have two “at sea,” days but I am looking at the map and it seems we have already covered most of the distance during the first sea day so I’m not sure there will be too much travelling left during the next “sea day.” My parents said we might just float aimlessly in the water if we arrive early.

They over estimate the time of arrival. People are more likely to moan if the ships late than early. It also gives them more wiggle room if there's issues at the port or tides aren't quite right, for example last weeks extreme tides prevented docking in some ports

Depend on how fast they are sailing. I've been on 4 cruises and sometimes they were early. It all depends on how fast they are going at sea ans if they had a tailwind.
