I recently traveled on Korean Air, and I recommend them. Modern aircraft, topnotch service and the best food I have had. They even use real metal cutlery, instead of plastic forks or utensils made from gatized wood, etc. The staff was awesome, as well.

Good question, Bill! I was talking to my parents the other night and they talked about an airline from the eighties and nineties called Midwest Express. They were based in Milwaukee and were relatively cheap but their entire fleet had two plush leather seats in each row and complimentary champagne with a meal. It was basically first class treatment for a coach price. I'm curious, since you're from Chicago, if you remember them? My uncle is an airline captain. I actually asked a question about airline travel after the D. C crash and how worried my family and I were about him.

No, unfortunately. I arrived in Chicago in '86. You might try Googling 'airline based in Milwaukee, 1950's' and see if anything comes up.

Singapore Airlines and Emirates are the best of what I’ve experienced. Short haul flights I dont expect or need / want much but it REALLY makes a difference on the long haul flights when you have great service and staff. It also doesn’t hurt that staff on those flights are very easy on the eye either 😉

I know, right? What I loved about the ladirs on the Korean Air staff was their voices -- very pleasant, sing-song like tones.

Yeah , i know what you mean so it’s maybe more of an eastern flavor even from my experience of flight to Laos , Cambodia , Thailand and Vietnam.. Manner and voices are just so soft & pleasing and so very different than those where I am in the uk 🇬🇧

I like Air Asia , they do give steel cutlery, I can watch movies , they feed with tasty food , feel good to fly with that company ( I travel a lot )
