Is Fiji safe for a short solo female trip if my parents are against it?

I’m not someone who wants to make my parents worried but I think they’re easily worried sick. So I think lying to them by telling them I’m going to New Zealand when the truth is I’m going to Fiji for 5 days 4 nights. I don’t understand why my parents are so against me going to Paris which lead to me being forced to canceled my trip. This time I’m not gonna let them stop me I will just lie to them I’m going to NZ as a way to not let them have control over me but I have one thing to ask is Fiji safe for solo female travellers? I don’t want to end up get attacked there and I don’t want to end up regretting my trip so I’m just clarifying if it’s really that safe. Any tips and advice? Thank you.

Honestly... I don't understand the female drive for these trips. You know how much cheaper it would be to just stay home and drink some and fall asleep in front of the TV? I mean if you watched it on youtube, you've basically been there already.

Me... I was in the Navy and I've seen the world... been everywhere and I just don't care. My wife... same story... she doesn't give a fuck about random places either. Don't ask us. Do you due diligence and determine from reliable sources like the US State Department what you should know about traveling to Fiji.

From what I'm seeing online it seems safe, but I know in some villages, they have no concept of private/personal property, and they believe what's yours is theirs. That includes cameras, and even women. So I would avoid the villages, and you should be fine.

Well, Paris is full of criminal migrants so I understand your parents. I don't think lying is good in case something does happened. If you're having doubts, maybe you shouldn't go. Or maybe you can book a group trip. It should put you both at ease.

My impression from visiting fleetingly is that it is 'normal safe'. It's a coherent and not generally violent society but incomes are quite low so property crime is possible. Sexual assault risk for a woman travelling alone is material pretty much global, other than maybe like Singapore or Japan, so make sensible choices the same way you would elsewhere. That's my gut feeling anyway.
