Yup. Just sold my last bike in September of 2025. This one. Honda's insane design statement. A $150,000 factory custom cruiser. Nearly every component was designed specifically for this one bike. According to experts, Honda spent $250 million on the design and production program to build somewhere between 1,500 and 1,700 of these for sale. Hence the $150,000 per copy cost. The engine is 1,834 cc and the bike weighs 880 pounds.

LOL, yeah it's a weird bike but I just had to have one. I think mine was serial number 128. I owned it for about 11 years. I say weird because everything about it was huge. Giant 6 gallon gas tank. Giant 1832 cc flat 6 engine. Giant front fork that used a bottom trailing link design so they could get the rake the design team wanted and the bike would handle normally. It's the only time any production bike has ever used that design. Ridiculously expensive to produce. And they did it for the fucking looks, LOL. Giant aluminum radiator in front to cool the thing. Giant exhaust pipes that were made by a lost mold casting process where each exhaust pipe, 2 per bike each had it's own mold that was a one time use mold destroyed in the process of casting the exhaust. 7 liter air intake box. The single side swing arm design from racing bikes allowed the seat to be only 27 inches off the ground. Six throttle bodies with 12 hole injectors. The whole thing was just outrageously over the top. And the feel of the controls was astonishing. Like a 2 wheeled Rolls Royce.

It wasn't the fastest. It wasn't the best handling. But that thing made heads turn wherever I went. It was hilarious to watch people's reactions to it.

Say no more, I just read the 880 pounds and knew what was up. I don't think the whole endeavor made financially sense for Honda. It was probably done as lighthouse project, like VW did with the Bugatti Veyron.

Correct. It was a statement piece from their design group. Thats how it got so expensive. For once Honda gave the design team complete control and told the engineers to make it happen.

It was done to celebrate a Honda anniversary. I think it was their 50th year in the US. The plan was to build one copy for every dealer and there were about 2,500 dealers in 2004. But a lot of dealers didn’t take one. Honda won't say but obsessed owners have pieced together that somewhere between 1,500 and 1,700 were actually built.

It was one hell of a statement by conservative Honda.

For the last 25 years or so. People say it's scary. You just need to know what you're doing. Stay below the point where you're comfortably cruising. It did get me in trouble a few times. You need to understand that in a difficult situation, you'll be the one losing out.

I've been on the back as well. You need a lot of confidence in the rider, that's for sure.
