I should clarify.
I was only in Denmark for a few hours at the Copenhagen airport, on my way back to the US. Before that, I had spent a few days in The Netherlands, Amsterdam and Kinderdijk. Very enjoyable.

@Levin It sucked! LOL. It did. The weather was horrible! But okay that’s just England, it’s known for shitty weather. But this seemed like it was a malignant shitty weather event. Like it was just trying to actively ruin the trip! It would break, and you’d see the beautiful blue sky, trying to find some good, and it would start raining the second I stepped outside, and it would stop when I get in the car! Shit was Evil! And the rest sucked because there are family squabbles with the way the family trust is managed. Yay! Not exactly the best vacation week ever! but still pretty sucky.

My wife and spent a couple of weeks in San Miguel de Allende and Guanajuato, Mexico, a few years ago and had the most wonderful time. We haven't been abroad since then. That was prior to the 2020 covid panic.

Interesting you say the islands are close to Australia. Fiji to Australia is the same distance as New York to Los Angeles in the US, the complete width of the Lower 48 part of the country.

One observation is that the place has social capital. There must be 20,000 bicycles resting on fences, lamp posts, whatever in Copenhagen at any given time. No bike locks. No theft.
