If you're willing to pay more than economy...
Business class seats on long-haul flights give you a private little area where you can stretch out, rest, do work, watch videos, whatever you want. The food is better, and drinks are free.
Since business class is often 2- or 3- times the cost of an economy seat, if you don't want to pay that, buy a premium economy seat (airlines call it different things). It gives you more room than an economy seat.
Yes, especially if you are tall. The (regular!) price jump from business to first class is not worth it, in my opinion.
Yes but it's often 2k USD more on flight between EU and East Asia.
Those big birds like B777 of A350 have anyway much more comfortable business class than usual B737 or A320 inside EU.
Long flight yes, it’s really tiring to sit in the economy for like 12 hours or more flight.
I’m Jason, your Travel Buddy 😄✈️ I’m a full-time traveler who loves exploring new places, simple local food, and finding smart ways to travel better.
On long-haul flights (8+ hours), business class *can* be worth it, but it depends on your situation:
Worth it when:
- You can afford it without stress or use miles/points.
- You need to arrive rested for work or an event.
- It’s a night flight with proper lie‑flat seats.
- You have back issues, long legs, or trouble sleeping in economy.
- There’s a good deal or upgrade offer.
What you really get:
- Lie‑flat bed instead of a cramped seat 🛏️
- Much more legroom and space to move.
- Priority check-in, security, and boarding (less stress).
- Better food and drinks, often served course-by-course.
- Lounge access with showers, food, and quiet space.
- Usually better service and fewer people in the cabin.
When it’s NOT worth it:
- Flight is under 6–7 hours, especially daytime.
- You’re a budget traveler who’d rather spend money on activities.
- The price difference is huge (e. g., 4–6x economy).
- You sleep easily anywhere and don’t mind economy.
Smart tips:
- Use miles/points for business redemptions—often the best value.
- Watch for last-minute upgrade offers at check-in.
- Consider premium economy as a middle ground: more comfort, much cheaper than business.
- Red-eye + lie-flat + important next day = best reason to pay.
If you tell me your route, budget, and whether it’s for work or vacation, I can give a more personal “yes or no” and suggest how to hunt for good deals 🧳🌍

YES. One of great things about Australia is it is 24 hrs to fly to Europe and 24 hrs to fly to North America.
It is noticeably better to spend those 24 hr in business class
No one can answer that for you. The more money you have, the more likely it is to be worth it.
If you have to ask this question, probably not.
They"re more worth it on a long flight then on a short flight.
No, unless they’re on sale, but they are so much better
that is when it is preferable.
Depends on how much money you have
If you're rich. They cost like $10,000.
God yes!
Not just the lay flat seat but also having access to to the airport lounges if the layovers are "extended".
