A big reason for the high prices of flying is because of fuel prices. Biden has shut down a significant amount of domestic oil production, and foreign production is also down, due to the Ukraine war, and the continued decline of Venezuela. Guess what happens when you stop producing fuel? The cost of fuel skyrockets. The US has plenty of oil - we were energy independent under Trump - but Biden ended that his first day in office, and fuel has been high ever since, which raises the prices of EVERYTHING.
Yes, unfortunately, we are experiencing a general inflation as a world. It is impossible that this is not reflected in plane tickets. You're inviting me to your own questions, I'm coming. But you're not coming 😡
Well with everything advancing and resources slowly diminishing honestly what do you expect? We can only play God for so long.
No history must not be repeated... It is inevitable from people's greed and ungratefulness tho...
Yes it's double what I paid last time.
I paid £370 for a direct flight to Toronto in 2019, went a few months ago and paid almost £800.
I've noticed 'add ons' where before they included checked baggage in the price and now you have to add it at an additional cost
Paris,
Just for shits and giggles, I checked it out on Orbitz. com

Holy sheep shit! This is well more than double what I've paid.
But, Paris, you have to think outside the box. Joey is going to build a railroad line across the ocean.

I think he's going to use those water wings to hold it up.
Is this one way? For what dates? I've found that a lot of times, round trip tickets and it's cheaper to book with a hotel as more often then not, the ticket alone costs more then booking a package with a hotel.
But you can thank Pete Buttfucker for the recent soar in prices.
@KostasKouvalis
Just the airfare. I would not want a package deal. But if the package deal was cheaper, I would take it and just never check into the hotel.

Everything else is sky high so why would this be a surprise?
here's a tip. instead of buying your tickets online, contact the airline on the phone and have them determine your lowest price. they have access to information that you don't and can probably get you your flights for half price. did this for my parents last month
Yes I’m heading to Dubai from France in December to spend the holidays with my sisters 950 euros return, I booked well in advance, still 400 more than last year and I booked pretty much last minute last time. Airlines took a hit during Covid and are making it back
EVERYTHING is way up the last couple years. The cheapo fast food meal I used to get for $7.50 is now $11. It's just that higher-priced things take bigger jumps.
Recently I spent $1100 round-trip to fly halfway around the world. It included a couple meals. To get home from the airport (about 45 miles) cost me $70 (one way; I got a ride from family on the outbound). Which is more out of line?
YES... I was going to book a flight for November it went up over a $1000 dollars for an international flight compared to 3 weeks ago. I heard though that flights prices should drop soon. This summer everyone rushed to go on vacation at all inclusive and Europe too.
Luckily I fly enough for work (all on Delta) and use a skymiles credit card that I rarely have to pay much out of pocket for a flight. I'm exhausting a lot of it with a family trip to Cancun later this year though.
I have a lot of credit card miles so I've never paid for international flights, but I do pay for domestic, and those are easily twice what they were three years ago for the same flights and times.
Yes, my fiancée is trying to plan a trip to China for later this year and the round trip ticket will be about $1,800! And I'm not going with her; that's the price of one round-trip ticket.
I haven't flown internationally recently, but domestic is insane, and rental cars on the other end are even more proportionately absurd.
no, I got some cheap flights to Europe and I hear of some cheap ones to florida. but in general, yea... everything is double.
I'm flying to India in December and back for 850 bucks which is very cheap for Swiss pricing standards so I'm happy :)
Airline prices change depending on seasons. Maybe it's just you noticed this for the first time.
"I'm flying in my taxi. Taking tips and getting stoned." Harry Chapin got it right... lol
Or John denver
I haven't seen it but I suppose they're more expensive.
Yes, the prices have gone up around the entire world.
No, I've never flew internationally so I don't look at the prices, but I have noticed the price rises in flying to another state.
There are still many very cheap flights. You just have to plan ahead early and have flexible dates.
I can help you find a good deal if you want! Just send me a message. :)
Must be where you live, it's rather cheap to fly most places, here in the UK.
No, not really. Last time I check those prices were the times I had my LDR.
They were reasonable but out of my reach.
Actually, they are lower than normal especially domestic since my daughter got a plane ticket for 60 bucks to go to Florida from New York
Well, I’m supposed to go to Jamaica in January so if I book it early enough, I guess I’ll get a better deal
No one as of yet, and it’s my stepson’s wedding
I wish I had a girlfriend to bring though, I guess there’s still time 😊
along with the high cost of driving to the food store (which I do much more often). :- )
Hmmmm I sure haven’t, I do recall seeing extremely high prices months ago when I was looking to go to a Spain, those plans have definitely changed…
I just looked and found New York to London for $93.
Maybe they’re serving Denny’s on the plane that’s why it’s expensive lol 😂
Been trying to plan a biz trip to Asia. Expensive as hell
I think we won't be able to fly anymore. A few bigwigs rule the world economy and people are oppressed..
Absolutely even here in Europe prices are 40% plus more expensive this year than last
This why I use points and Expedia especially in none EU countries.
No I have not checked lately! Not really planning on doing any international, but perhaps some domestic. So @Paris13 where are you planning on going? Paris? LOL
I heard they're ridiculously high.
@Billlewis Um, A Thousand Times badder. lolxx
Vote Republican next time.
We don't fly in airplanes, we drive or take a ship. Husband is afraid of flying
It doesn't surprise me at all with the price of fuel way up. Then again I haven't flown in years now.
That's our president for ya :)
I never fly, and don't even have a passport
Trumps tax cuts for the rich
Prove it
Yes I have, and its freaking ridiculous.
Thanks Paris.
Demand is up
@KatherineJ Tha ts for Sure!!! I feel Sorry for Those with all those Kids. xx
No i haven't
I just don't travel internationally. Or get to period. I barely have the time just to go to club or bar to relax and have a few drinks.
No, didn't notice yet.
I am not a frequent flier..
Are you?
Nope
Thanks Joe.
Yeah it sucks
No. Is that a new movie or t. v. show?
It's insane
