Here is a video because the one on the article doesn't seem to work for me:
I think its a shame🤦🏾🤦🏾🤦🏾 just appreciate the lips you have
I think it's likely not widespread but will become so if the media keeps talking about it. That's what happened with the tidepod challenge. Over the course of a month there had only been about 112 videos of it on youtube, once the media covered it, 10x that number of videos were published in a week. I think we should stop giving attention to this sort of thing as it isn't helpful and has a way of encouraging it even if our words are all condemnation. As the saying goes, all publicity is good publicity.
Lol, it seems more a funny trend than a serious one, like the kylie Jenner cup sucking thing.
Superglue will only hold the weight of your upper lip for maybe an hour or 2, so not quite an effective fuller lip solution compared to 4-12hr lip plumping cosmetics.
I see why'd they do it lol, full lips give such a sultry edge
So that makes it right or even smart thing to do. why can't people be happy with what they got. stop trying to be perfect bc nothing is so get over it
No it doesn't justify it beyond a joke. The girls doing it seriously need to love their lips.
It's so odd, because big lips were made fun of when I was a teenager. We would put lipstick on beneath our lip lines to make them seem smaller.
Sometimes we did it for laughs, but seriously it sucked so.
It's not a healthy trend seriously, but a funny one for shits and giggles. Superglue on your upper lip isn't going to hurt you beyond some small peeled skin
It’s obviously for shits and giggles. It looks terrible and they’re aware of that. Especially since most of the girls in the video have nice lips already lol they’re just doing it for fun, just like every other stupid trend like the cinnamon challenge and etc.
Oh god! Thank you! I needed a good laugh today!
On a serious note though, at least it's not as dangerous as eating tide pods. Lol
I don't think that's super glue though, it looks more like liquid latex. None the less, it looks ridiculous.
All in the name of beauty has been a driving force for countless contraptions and products through history. The Victorian woman would use lead powder and arsenic to color her face, plus squeeze into deforming corsets. Some tribes in Africa elongate women's necks. The Almec people would deform babies heads. Modern women are no different.
It really seems like people are getting stupider all the time. Super glue specifically says on the label to keep it off of your skin. It’s not made as a cosmetic product and shouldn’t be used as one. People always complain that the generation after there’s is the stupidest, and to me it seems like the next generation is always looking for a way to prove that they’re the ones to hold that position.
Teens are rarely if ever a good source for legitimately smart, cool, or fun things to do...
Teens in this day and age eat Tide pods, get offended by red ballcaps, and don't know which bathroom to use. Now they put glue on their lips...
And yet some people want 16yr olds voting...
For the most part I do believe that they (most of the girls) are using a adhesive agent that is safe to put on human skin like liquid latex, eyelash glue, and or spirit gum. But maybe some of these girls actually do try to use super glue (which is not safe for human skin and it's also not fun to get off) And yeah this is a stupid trend.
Well it’s only a matter of months then until someone gets the bright idea to super glue their eyes open to make their eyes look bigger or super gluing one eye closed to get the perfect blink selfie… A lot more kids will be in the ER soon...
the thing with the internet these days is anything goes and you have to wonder about the mental sate of teens today. I grew up in a time this dint exist and I was always the odd one out and a late developer when most girls at my school were having sex or bragging about it i wasn't. Individuality needs to come back and resisting STUPID AND DANGEROUS trends like this
If guys started liking natural or thin lips, girls wouldn’t do this shit. guys don’t realize the effect they cause on women. They talk so much shit about girls that get fake stuff but yet still go drooling over the fakest girls, making other girls want to look just like that fake girl because they saw that’s what they want. And even girls don’t realize they’re doing this but that’s what it is.
Guys like big fake stuff. And girls want to be desired so they do this shit.
She is right. I basically posted a question about bra style a while. ago and there were people complaining that models didn't have big boobs... women included. Some of these women tend to look down on those who are not like them, like they are someone just because they look that way... it is clear what is wrong with society.
@kanelives no, you don’t like clown makeup.
You guys can’t even tell the difference between fake or natural you simply go for the fake stuff as long as to you it seems natural when most of us girls can spot a fake from a mile away, we see it and then aim to achieve that look.
When men say they prefer natural, they mean the prefer the FAKe “natural” and that’s the majority!
Trust! That if you guys actually liked the real natural, no girls would be doing all this shit. 100%!!
@emmily2396 The guys that care about wanting big boobs were vocal. No one body type of everyone's preference so you're always going to get that kind of reaction. I personally don't care much about breast size, but I actually tend to find girls with smaller boobs more attractive. I mean bigger boobs can be attractive but I just tend to not find girls with big boobs attractive if that makes sense.
Of course girls with larger boobs want men to like them or because sex is a competitive market.
I agreed with you on the make up already, other features should not be fake though. There is no need to go enlarge your lips, ass, breasts, Etc. If it were required, then men and women wouldn't have been getting together for millennia! Yes, we can tell fake. In addition, if what you said is true that all guys like fake, then why is there a large outcry against it from men? Again I reiterate, those who believe all men like fake features are trying to go after a minority of men.
If you are so adamant that all men like 'big fake stuff,' go make a poll.
Also, what are you basing the fact that men like big fake things on exactly? The beauty industry? Because that industry is a ton of bullshit.
Comments like this is why women were not allowed to vote in the past. Men aren’t doing that to women. Women are doing it to themselves and hold complete and total responsibility for their actions. When you act like a helpless mindless dote, people will start trying you that way. Men have no responsibility to go around liking your photo just so you don’t do stupid shit. What are you going to say next, that we need to tell you to eat healthy food so that you don’t drink used motor oil or eat broken glass, because men didn’t tell you what to do? Full retard… All those girls had nice lips and cute smiles before they put glue on their lip. Then they looked fucked stupid as shit and worthless.
@cavmanier my problem is that they came there to be toxic. THey came to complain those women don't match their preference. They ony say that in hope to see more stuff that pleases their disgusting minds. Their opinion is not useful to anyone, it does nothing but hurt feelings. Same about those women.
@cavmanier I am aware that different peoplehave different preferences, however I have a problem when perefctly normal and good looking women get this kind of unasked opinions.
@emmily2396 I didn't pick up on them doing that stuff. I feel like we were talking about too many topics lol.
I think many guys like and even prefer natural thin lips. That doesn't seem to be the trend on instagram though. Every white girls I think I've seen on there has full lips, but then white girls with full lips is pretty rare in reality unless you are talking about eastern Europeans so I figure they use some kind of short term product that I'm unaware of. That's where this seems to be coming from.
What I don't get is why a girl would want to be desired, but she doesn't want a man to try to get to know her? I figure she mainly only wants her narrow type to want to get to know her though.
AGAIN I cannot stress this enough men don’t even know what they like. A normal girl walking next to a fake one, trust! That the majority of men will be drilling over the fake one and they won’t even realize that’s she's fake. That’s the thing.
Men don’t like to know it’s fake, they even call other girls jealous when we point out someone else is fake and they blindly believe it’s all natural only cause the fake girl said so and since the guy didn’t see the surgeon injecting all the fake stuff, well they believe her.
It’s so stupid and pointless to even attempt to make a blind man see when they choose to see what they want. They simply don’t like the idea of FAKe but yet drool over the fake over and over. Hence the reason why playboy is even successful at all.
I had a best friend that way. You got get an average looking girl and put her in trendy clothes and he'd find her so attractive. He didn't see the smoke and mirrors. These kind of frills do little for me. I like the natural girl that doesn't try hard, but is naturally pretty. Make up is cool at times, but not important i m o. All guys are different though.
I think it's best to present yourself in a way that you feel like you are showing your values and style instead of being concerned with what the majority of guys find attractive.
Yeah teenagers are idiots. All of them; even those who do all the charitable stuff in impoverished countries, even the best of them they will have some of that teenage pubescent idiocy in there somewhere. It's impossible to be a teenager and not be an idiot. Some of them stay that way and that's the real problem.
It's another example showing most teens don't have enough common sense yet to be part of important discussions. 😬
Typical morons who do fad things like eating Tide pods. When passing out smarts they thought they said darts so they asked for dull ones.
So many people my age are doing it and honestly I worry for them just to become tiktok famous don't think they realise its not making you famous its making you look like an idiot
My dad swallowed goldfish. I smoked banana peels. There's nothing new in people generating fads. This seems less harmful than detergent pods and play piercings. As long as the lips don't get glued shut, doesn't matter much in my book.
Some should have their lips glued shut as, if you read the news about how people get in trouble for something they said, you can sometimes open your yap a bit too wide for your own good.
"Two things are infinite. The universe and human stupidity... and I am not sure about the former."
I heard that they used eyelash glue, not superglue. Either way I think the challenge is dumb and pointless. Not mention it would look incredibly fake in real life.
We are single handedly witnessing humans devolve into a lower life form.
Perhaps if they glue their lips together it'll sort out the obesity crisis
doing cosmetic hacks especially with harmful methods or compounds.. im assuming they're retarded and poor. I'd prefer cheap basic make up like liptint + shade + wings. Or even better, take good care of those skin and go out with no make up (sun cream is always OK).
I'm guessing you have full lips. Easy to judge when you don't have thin lips. Neither of these girls have thin lips but i think they're just playing around anyways.
I mean it's not like people wouldn't notice ( i might).
This always makes me wonder about the women who make their lips bigger with lipstick or reshape their eyebrows with makeup. Do they think people don't notice? I mean i'll be honest some have fooled me but i'm pretty oblivious lol.
I ponder the lack of intelligence and have concluded that if our world has to depend on these people to run it, we are all doomed.
We will eventually. so yea morons will be running things

On a scale from "Eating Tide Pods" to "Don't Judge Me" challenge, this is somewhere in between. Not the worst Internet trend I've ever seen, not even by a mile, but it definitely leans towards Don't Judge Me. My main questions are "What viral marketing campaign started this?" and "What are they selling?" because there is absolutely no way some ordinary, unknown dumb teen concocted this idea in their spare time and everyone else decided to copy them for the lolz. This had to have been staged by a marketing agency or beauty-focused YouTuber or Instagram star. I mean, yes, it COULD have been some no-name person who originally posted this to social media, let's be honest: this is not the early days of the Internet anymore; people with no clout or reputation generally don't propagate ideas very far, especially when it comes to the domain of human attractiveness. We (generally) only look to more attractive people to decide for us what the barometer to desirability is.
Why would I say that? Because most or all of the girls featured in this video (and probably all the ones who participated in the challenge and uploaded it to social media--whatever it's called) are at least somewhat stereotypically attractive. They are "hot chicks", copying the actions of some "authority figure" (because I guarantee not a single one of them woke up in the morning and thought to themselves "y'know what? I bet I would look even more attractive, if I superglued by upper lip to my philtrum") and only an Influencer has that kind of power.
