Racism happens when the virus causes deaths in humans. Newspapers even state that innocent Chinese got beaten up and get called “corona virus”

The average American has difficulty telling Asian Americans apart from Asian Asians (native-born Asians), what more trying to differentiate Chinese, Japanese , and Koreans.

I've had Korean and Japanese friends being harassed - doesn't matter if you're a woman or man, you're fair game to the racist asshats that come out of the woodwork.

Even a Chinese American friend who has never even been to China told me that he had been harassed while just walking down the street.

Thankfully, no one in my personal circle of friends have been harmed.
There was one guy where a group of teens pelted him pebbles and small stones, but these were like tiny pebbles, and he got out of there real quick, so no harm done.

There were some of these incidents in the early stages of the pandemic in western countries. But I would say that's already over. We are facing a global problem, individuals of Chinese origin aren't to blame for that.
