Should the Michigan school shooter's parents go to jail, too?

Ethan Crumbley, the Michigan high-school student accused of gunning down his classmates Tuesday, used a gun that was purchased by his father on Black Friday, according to the Oakland County Sheriff’s Office. “The person that’s got the most insight of the motive is not talking,” Sheriff Michael Bouchard told reporters late Tuesday, hours after the attack at Oxford High School that left four students dead and seven others wounded.

The 15-year-old's mother posted this insane open letter to Donald Trump:

“Mr. Trump, I actually love that you are a bad public speaker because that showed sincerity, and humility,” she wrote. “You changed your mind, and you said ‘so what.’ You made the famous ‘grab them in the pussy’ comment, did it offend me? No. I say things all the time that people take the wrong way, do I mean them, not always. Do I agree that you should of [sic] shown your tax returns? No. I don’t care what you do or maybe don’t pay in taxes, I think those are personal and if the Gov’t can lock someone up over $10,000 of unpaid taxes and you slipped on by, then that shows the corruption.”

Crumbley went on to tell Trump that she hoped he would “really uncover the politicians for what I believe they really are,” and that he might “shut down Big Pharma, make health care affordable for me and my MIDDLE CLASS family again.” She was in favor of Trump’s long-promised border wall, and noted that she was “not racist” because her grandfather “came straight off the boat in Italy.”

“As a female and a Realtor, thank you for allowing my right to bear arms,” the letter continued. “Allowing me to be protected if I show a home to someone with bad intentions. Thank you for respecting that Amendment.”

She complained about parents at other schools where the “kids come from illegal immigrant parents” and “don’t care about learning.”

It was signed, “A hard working Middle Class Law Abiding Citizen who is sick of getting fucked in the ass and would rather be grabbed by the pussy.”

Yes. Lock all three of them up.

No. Just the kid needs to be jailed.

Lock up the kid and the dad.

Lock up the kid and the mom.

Just imprison the parents. The killer is too young to go to jail.

Let them all go free. This was their 2nd Amendment right.

However, as to the father, there ARE laws governing gun storage in the home where minors are living. I don't know what Michigan's laws are, but I'd wager he was in violation of a few. That's something which might have some teeth in court.

As I suspected, charges against the parents were brought. I was unaware of her postings on other media about the guns. I thought she'd only posted about Trump, but based on what she said, the charges make sense. Let's see what they can get to stick. Maybe they'll get a family suite in prison?

It's a long standing tradition to shoot down their surrounding: Native Americans, Bison herds, Nazi's, Communists, etc.

Definitely lock up the kid, but the parents are maybe guilty of at least manslaughter for not locking up the gun. I don't know much about this story but if the kid had known mental issues I'd say the parents could be liable for more charges.

Oakland County Prosecutor Karen McDonald said she is considering bringing criminal charges against the parents of Ethan Crumbley, the 15-year-old Oxford High School sophomore accused of killing four classmates and wounding seven other people in a mass shooting Tuesday at the suburban Detroit school.

McDonald announced charges Wednesday against Crumbley, who was arraigned later in the day. He is charged with one count of terrorism causing death, four counts of first-degree murder, seven counts of assault with intent to murder and 12 counts possession of a firearm in commission of a felony. The teen will be tried as an adult, she said.

The prosecutors promised a decision on additional charges would be made swiftly.

"We know that owning a gun means securing it properly and locking it and keeping the ammunition separate and not allowing access to other individuals, particularly minors," McDonald said.

"We have to hold individuals accountable who don't do that."

The only way the father can be implicated in what happened is if he purposely made a straw purchase in order to give the gun to his son. I don't know much about IL gun laws but i have the feeling 15yo can't own ARs. If the kid stole the weapon from his father nothing will happen, matter of fact, it will be Kyle Rittenhouse 2.0 where the media will make a massive circus to prove a polítical point and not only with fail miserably but also will lose a ton of lawsuits.
