I’m not even going to bother addressing the death penalty existing at all portion of the argument that you could choose to try to have with me, which you would lose because it’s both horrible as well as wrong, and even as a bonus unjustifiable in a civilized society. So let’s proceed without addressing the largest part of that statement that is fucked off and pretend that for some reason we are of the belief that playing God and deciding whether people live or die is totally and completely all right. And also let’s be sure that we proceed with The notion that somehow someway we’ve devised a system in which the death penalty is totally acceptable because we now get 100% of convictions for crimes completely correct and therefore we would never in 1 million years execute someone who is innocent. Now that we have those presuppositions out of the way, let’s talk about whether or not the six-year-old should get the death penalty and all of the flaws inherently in that statement to begin with let alone the thought process behind it.
So first things first, did the six year old know what he was doing when he shot the teacher? I think we can all agree he did to some extent. So I’ll give you that. But let me ask you this. At six years old, did you really truly conceive of what death was? What it meant? The ramifications of that action? Don’t answer, because the truth is you didn’t and anything you say to try to claim that you did is utter and complete bullshit. A six year old does not truly know understand or conceive of what death is nor do they conceive of the permanence of it. That doesn’t make what he did OK, and I’m not trying to say that it does. What I’m saying is that there’s no way that he was able to know the true possibilities of the situation and what they could actually mean going forward for not only her life but his as well.
OK, next question. Adults who fully understand what they did and also fully understand the consequences of what they did go to prison for murder all the time, and they carry sentences of 20 years or 30 years or even life in prison. Why would we then think that since an adult didn’t deserve the death penalty when they were completely cognizant of their actions and the repercussions of that actions we should then sentence a six-year-old to death for the same thing? Not even really the same thing, but will get to that. What I’m saying is though the action was similar you have to take into account the situation and the circumstances of the situation. Bottom line here is that a six year old was allowed enough unsupervised access to a firearm that he was able to not only touch it but take it then take it to school with him and then use it against his teacher. That’s a problem. That’s the parents. They are the root of this problem. One of the root of this problem. Next let’s talk about how the fuck this child knew how to load the gun with bullets and then rack the slide and then shoot it after taking the safety off. Somebody has to show him that. That’s not in the knowledge of human beings. So again what the fuck were his parents doing? What were they thinking? Why would they think that was an appropriate thing to teach a six year old? It’s not. So yeah what he did was wrong, but do you know how we very easily prevent that from happening? How about the parents be the “responsible gun owners“ that I hear the right talking about every single fucking time there’s a shooting incident and lock they’re going up to keep it out of the hands of a fucking six-year-old. If that gun is locked up properly in a way that he can’t access it to begin with he never shoots his teacher because he can’t get a gun because he’s six years old. So if anyone is going to face an incredibly severe penalty for this, not only should he have to have whatever penalty he gets, his parents should get that double. Now finally done addressing that aspect of this, let me move onto the last part hear that is just the largest hole in this ship that is apparently full of cannon fire holes to begin with.
All right, you ready? Because here it comes… Should this child be given the death penalty for his actions? It seems pretty clear with your opinion is based on the statement you wrote that he knew well what he was doing. Let’s say that you’re right on that one, let’s pretend that he understood every bit of what was going on the implications of it for everyone involved, he wanted that bitch dead, and he set out to do it maliciously with full intention and he took that gun to school and he pulled it out of his pants he pointed at the teacher like he did and he shot her knowing what was about to happen and hoping she died. Let’s assume all that’s true. So how on earth might you possibly be wrong? I mean, aside from the laundry list of ways that I’ve just explained, of course….
I’ll tell you.
The teacher that got shot did not die. A simple and absolutely basic understanding of the criminal justice system that is so fucked and broken in this country that everybody on the planet possesses but you apparently would tell you that the death penalty is not handed out for attempted murder. The death penalty isn’t even always handed out for successful murder. There are people charged and convicted with premeditated murder that did not get the death penalty. So how on earth do you think this kid would receive the death penalty for his attempted murder charge assuming that they are even able to completely charge him with that given that he is six years old? And more important question for you, why would you think or make a statement publicly that would lead others to believe that you think that you should ever punish a six-year-old with the death penalty? Your position is bad and you should be ashamed.
The teacher was injured - obviously - but not killed. You don't get the death penalty for wounding but not killing someone. Even if you're an adult.
No, this kid should not be prosecuted. He should be placed in a long-term psychiatric facility.
Civilised countries don't have the death penalty, and he's a child! You want a 6-year old to be executed? That's the kind of thing a group like ISIS would do. You're sick, get help.
Not necessarily, but he should be shot. Ooops.

A child that young doesn't come up with an idea like shooting a teacher on his own, and he certainly shouldn't have access to a gun. If I were the police I would be investigating the parents and checking to see if that home is even healthy for a child.
Shit like that doesn't just happen when we're talking about a 6 year old child.
The parents need some accountability.
He's a kid. His parents obviously fucked him up. That said, crime is crime... Send him to JC and then prison for his actions when he's old enough. Drop 30 years on him. Then go after his parrents.
Chances are if he murdered that young, he will get murdered in jail or murder someone in jail. He's been raised to be a murderer by his parents. A little jit like that will get his shit pushed in in JC repeatedly and try to kill whoever raped him. Then either the others will murder him, or he'll end up with life without parole for murdering someone inside prison. He'll never get out regardless. He signed his life away already.
Yeah do it. Being soft on kids just encourages bad behavior.
He knew he was shooting but not what that means. Ide call it an issue with understanding what death means for most cases.
His parents should be prosecuted and imprisoned.
I'm sure you also believe that statutory rape isn't real.
Why? Because you're a rapist?
No, because you think a 6-year-old is able to understand the ramifications of his actions fully and knows what he was doing. Therefore, you must also think that children of that age and above are fully aware of sex and everything that comes with it. Therefore if it was only rape in the statutory sense, it can't have actually been rape because they agreed to it.
Go to jail, go directly to jail, do not pass GO, do not collect $200.
I'm all in favor of holding parents accountable for their minor children's behavior.
Of course not. He's only 6 years old. The mom should defend get in trouble though.
