A first grade student was punished for drawing "any life" on her art activity.

She was excluded from recess for two weeks among other punishments. Her family is fighting the matter in court.

This is what happens when people embrace leftist, socialist ideologies. How does this even happen in the United States?

Leftists will continue to censor and attack those who oppose their ideologies. This is an attack on freedom of speech and our fundamental rights. Many have lost jobs and their livelihoods because they have said something that is perceived as "offensive", even if the intent is innocuous.

Okay, now this sounds like a valid reason to enact Protocol Pumped Up Kicks. I mean... Apparently, the school policymakers think Her life doesn't matter. Why should theirs matter to Her? And since She's a first grader, She won't have to face the music later. In any case, She can always ask the jury: "Are You harassing me because I'm female?" That should send shivers down their spines even more that the aftermath of Protocol Pumped Up Kicks. 😈

No, but in all seriousness... I might or might not be joking earlier, but the school should at least be squeezed dry at the court. What had transpired is clearly a horrible act of discrimination of a bright and morally upstanding pupil.

A sociopolitical statement like “black lives matter” shouldn’t be part of a first grader's school work. It is a divisive statement and as demonstrated a natural response is that all lives should matter equally in a fair moral zeitgeist. A child shouldn’t be punished for reacting to poorly communicated and ambiguous sociopolitical propaganda.

Why not mention Kamala? She affiliates with the political party that supports censorship and the cancel culture. She is a leftist and supports socialist initiatives. A Kamala presidency will be a leadership of political oppression.

wow, this is beyond disbelief and aggravates me. This is an education setting and a first grader, it's social injustice how the school is mistreating this poor kid. It does not matter if it's the left or right wings, it isn't okay. The school system should not punish students for having an identity and viewpoints as taking away their First Amendment rights with the clear explanation from the student that it wasn't meant to be harmful. According to the article, the principal actually found the drawing as "inappropriate" and "racist" which is an understanding perception in a way. However, the kid has justified that it was a misunderstanding because B. B.'s intention was to comfort her classmate and try to actually bring more diversity than being racist. B. B. wrote both "black lives matter" and "any life" which is supposed to be more wholesome than choosing one movement than another. Most people does NOT even understand the movement of Black Lives Matter anyways.

This is another way children aren’t being shown discipline. Not punishment nor should it be encouraged. The teacher should have asked why he drew it and asked if focusing on certain troubled populations is ok.

Who says all races don't matter? You will always have racists and bad apples everywhere. You cannot scrub the world of everyone you don't like. I wouldn't want to live in a world like that anyways. Look at progress over the years as a whole. A person of any race has the right to freedom just like any other race. Some people may hit snags more than others. I may be white, but that doesn't mean I don't encounter my own issues. Identity politics is not the answer.
