I understand holding a parent responsible if a small child does something stupid with their gun but once you are old enough to know right from wrong and you still decide to do devilish ish you should bear your own damn guilt alone.

Yes. Still won't get any traction.
Here's my hellmarry for any level of gun control for USA. You can't use a gun in self defense without a millions payed to a lawyer. shit is so off the rails you can't even use guns as intended.
I am a hardcore leftist who hates guns that got jury duty in a republican state alaska for a self defense case. Ultimately it was a miss trial. The fucking boomers who have foresight they could do anything else to prevent the death. Zero understanding how the law works and we are to judge how reality happened.
So maybe turn this Into some good. Rally behind good gun owners who has their rights potentially ripped from underneath them from the mistrust the over all gun community has accross the nation. That you are losing your ability to protect yourself in self defense without millions of dollars in lawyer fees. Ultimately losing freedom. So something has to change.
No. Parents should not be held responsible.
My parents had absolutely zero control over some of the stupid shit I did as an adolescent and young adult.
Democrats don't think parents should have any say at all when it comes to their children's sexual behavior. And they don't hold parents responsible for vandalism, rioting, arson, terrorism or inuring police.
But when it comes to guns, and only guns, they want to hold parents responsible for their children's behavior. And they only do that to send a message of intimidation to gun owners. .

Parents should not be held responsible. In general, no one should be held responsible for the actions of another. Regardless of how good or bad a parenting job they've done, their child is an independent being and responsible for their own actions.
Having said thst, parents may be held responsible for creating a situation that their child acts out on. For example, not properly securing guns so that their child can't access them without the parents' knowledge.
I don't think so. Kids know and understand a lot more than we give them credit for. It didn't take me very long to figure out that shooting people was bad.
Depends more just people are trying to stop gun violence! People need to stop using guns they are lazy murder weapons. England is trying to ban pointed knives due to Thier murder rates
Shouldn’t it depend on whether or not it was the parent’s gun used in the shooting?
Also, if the parent knew something about what their child planned on doing, but did nothing to stop it?
The parents responsiblilty is to keep the guns in the house out of the hands of the children.
10 years old and below are children.
A young teen can get a woman pregnant and knows better what is clearly acceptable or not.
Maybe just maybe
