It has not changed my opinion in any way. Occupying countries is not easy, holding on to them is even harder. Having the superior force is no guarantee of anything. Look at Vietnam, look at Afghanistan, etc. Ukraine is a big country, it was always going to be a uphill task at best. The only surprise is that Putin may have been naive enough to believe that this would be easy.
I agree not easy! And yes he certainly thought it would be. I do not think he expected the worldwide backlash. He has tried to use as less force as possible until recently.
Hard to say, too much propaganda to cut through.
I fully agree on this! I do not believe anything I hear anymore. I trust no one these days!

It’s not changed it at all.
it’s always been the case that the Russians are happy to bleed through conscripts to expose other sides troops and emplacements.
Russian exercises are always press spectaculars, they group rocket artillery together as it looks good, in reality that is a high value target and you never group.
Modern systems work off Time On Target (TOT) and can be anywhere.
Their airforce does not have the likes of Red Flag.
Again their exercises are heavily scripted with aircraft attacking in strings or straight lines etc, looks good for the cameras.
They also have poor battle space management, which involves central tasking, knowing what is going on.
Their Navy is very good.
As a Code S Starcraft player and an Expert Age of empires player, I can say the Russian military is nowhere near as powerful nor flexible as I thought.
I previously thought Russia was about equal with the U. S. in capabilities, but after seeing a tank battalion and supply convoy "stalled in transit" for 4 days, I am laughing at the incompetence of the Russians.
A retired General on Fox News said as few as 6 U. S. bombers could destroy the entire Russian convoy north of Kyiv on just one sortie.
I say, "Why not attack the convoy? If we destroyed the convoy, Russia would be forced to retreat."
the russian sare just as afraid of nukes as we are. If we destroyed their shit, they won't nuke us, because our counter-attack will hurt them just as bad or worse than their nukes hurt us. They gain nothing by nuking us.
This is hilarious. Do you really believe that being an "expert" computer game player automatically makes you qualified to discuss something like this?
As for attacking the convoy, if the U. S. tried to do that it would very quickly lead to escalation, and an all-out war between Russia and NATO. I guess we can all be thankful that you're not in charge of making these sorts of decisions.
@Crucis84
The U. S. lost the vietnam war because our own Presidents and Senators chose to lose the war. They were somehow profiting from losing the war. I had Uncles and Great-Uncles who fought in WW2 and Vietnam and they even told me the Senators WANTED to lose the Vietnam War, and so did my Colonel (James Hulsey) whom I was referencing.
It's about what I expected would happen. It's now day six, and if anyone thinks that Russia should have conquered the whole of the Ukraine by now, they don't full appreciate just how difficult it is to successfully invade a nation that is bigger than Germany in territorial extent, with a population that isn't small (44 million). We seem to hear a great deal from the Ukrainians, and how they've allegedly killed 4,000 plus Russian soldiers, and shot down so many aircraft and helicopters and destroyed so many armoured vehicles, but both the Ukrainian government and our glaringly biased mainstream media have remained deafeningly silent about Ukrainian losses. I'm guessing their losses are ten times higher.
I can't help but laugh after watching a farmer steal a tank with his tractor. That should tell you what I feel
In spite of the lies from mainstream media, they have very strong military. If they were even 10% as evil and viscous as the USA, Ukraine would have already fallen.
They seem to lack combat experience. The US Army and Marines would slaughter them.
Yeah it's so much worse than I thought... Not that intimidating like they promote
C. I'm pretty shocked to be honest. If China invaded Russia, it sounds like it would be a cake walk.
Reminds me of Mike Tyson built up an amazing resume then got KO by some no name guy.
They aren’t that great
Yeah
