I think this could be a good thing but I really don’t know much about Elon Musk
Hahaha. Amazing.
Also, not much is gonna happen.
We'll see how well did this comment age.
So he has the money to feed millions of starving poor people, but he buys a website. What an asshole!
He could do that but he has the freedom to do what he wants. People are not obligated to donate to poverty
Good, maybe now those who use it can have freedom. I have no time for Twitter Instagram and Facebook gets 5 minutes of mt attention. There is only so much politics I can stomach. Attacking people online is a waste of time.
Outstanding! Let the purge of the radical left-wing asshole censors begin. I see the snowflake employees are melting down -- GOOD.
Basically it means Twitter is biased towards whatever he considers acceptable. Like Daily Mail is a Murdoch propaganda mouthpiece more than a newspaper.
Well I'm still not sure how he is defining free speech. I do know if he thinks he can talk business on Twitter the government will still come after him for the effect it has on stock prices
There will be good changes in Twitter now. I don't use it but still excited to see what he comes up with
It's well planned move to make trump back on twitter just before 2024 election.
Do you really believe that?
now i hope that people dont get cancelled over not liking bts
So a billionaire bought it. Doesn’t affect me on any level. I am not on it, and that won’t change.
I do not care. Counts as a thought, since I heard the news, thought about it for about half a second and no longer gave a shit.
Congratulations to him. I hope he will give freedom of speech to Twitter users and unban Twitter account of Donald Trump
Now China has her owned media in the usa, as Russia has with Fox TV.
Musk is the man who I hope will save humanity from itself.
"this sucks. I don't like it when people who think differently than me are allowed to share their opinions without getting banned or deleted." -- liberals 2022
I don’t know anything about the guy what does he represent who is he is he a good man or bad man?
Stand by for a flood of hate speech, misinformation and "alternative facts".
Worst case scenario we say fuck twitter even more than we did before, so I don't care.
Just another rich guy not living in his means he has to pay billion a year in interest
I think that’s awesome.
he will hide bad publicity of electric cars
https://www.youtube.com/embed/UsuYxFBHsiQIt’s good but it will just allow racism and all war to take place there. Free speech is important but it just allows abuse etc
War and racism have historically been imposed by the same people pushing censorship for a simple reason.
In both cases you have a powerfully person or group trying to impose its will upon other people in a believe they can't be allowed to look after themselfs. They use censorship as a tool of that control, just like war when that proves ineffective.
I'm afraid who ever told you that was either trying to take advantage of your limited historical perspective control you or ignorant themselfs.
@monorprise I don’t mean war literally
Neither did I, I should perhaps better referred to the superset of force in general.
Doesn't affect me. :) :p
kinda miss Trump's moronic statements.
Twitter still matter?
I'm rarely on Twitter so whatever.
I wanna see the changes
I'm so happy about it
The wealth gap will get much worse.
Oh well the rich get richer & control more.
The most insane extremists will be happy.
i mean its not like facebook or instagram lol.
it will continue to be a shit platform
Trump will be released from jail.
He is rich enough he can do whatever he wants.
I delight in the butthurt of others.
I don’t care I don’t even use twitter
He has his reasons, I don't use it anyway
Your next President Donald J Trump. Yeeeee Hawwwww
Don't use it so don't care
Good on him.
He has that money so he can buy.
Why is a site that expensive?
Stock price, the money invested plus companies probably pay to advertise not to mention their own advertising costs. Stuff like that.
I really don't have an opinion about it.
I like seeing the blue check marks reactions
Don't care 🤷♂️
Don't use Twitter, so don't know.
It makes zero sense. what was the point?
To allow everyone to speak their mind without being silenced
@Danny_dan92 $44 billion for that? lol, please.
as a marine, i would hope you understand that free speech isn't unlimited, and first amendment doesn't apply to companies.
Companies should remain apolitical
@Danny_dan92 banning people who break the rules isn't a political stance.
besides, companies can be political if they want. who the hell are you to say otherwise?
My gut tells me that for someone like Musk, twitter is a good way to promote his products, companies first. Maybe some sort of Twitter and Tesla integration.
@SlothySlob $44 billion for marketing? Clearly you have nothing to do with business or marketing. How the hell are you going to integrate a car with a social media platform? Lol.
If I'm not mistaken there are talks of "car sharing". The only problem is self driving cars aren't at the point where people would consider safe.
From my impressions, California is retarded enough to go against American car culture to implement car sharing. I'd wager than the majority of California is already on Twatter so why not implement that through it.
For marketing... Ok a certain percentage of people who are viewed as on the left will leave because of Musk buying Twitter. A certain percentage of who are viewed as right leaning will join/rejoin twitter because they either support Musk or see it as some freedom of speech spiel. The user count may increase or decrease, dunno. Ultimately, if Musk so desires, he can have like a banner or some shit where the first thing you see or always on top is "musk tweet of the day" where it says "doge go up".
He could have the same thing as Tom or Tim from MySpace where everyone automatically are added to his equivalent-to-friends-list.
Maybe, with his 5 step process, he'll have, in a sense, twitter deleted and in it's place will be something similar but different.
Maybe he'll have an offshoot of Twitter where it'll be on his starlink system only.
The only thing that I do believe is, after some time, fairly soon, he'll catch flak because some idiot is gonna get banned for posting something that goes against ToS and people will start crying "but muh freedumbs"
@SlothySlob Twitter has no car sharing functionality which means it would have to be built into the platform, so why not just create a new app from scratch? Or buy Uber or Lyft or a car sharing app which I believe already exists.. That would make more sense regarding car sharing.
44 billion dollars to put banner ads at the top of Twitter? Lol. If you worked at any marketing department you would have been fired.
Sounds to me like you’re a little bit envious of the income of another man since you’re so stuck on the number of money he spent to purchase the company instead of focusing on WHY he bought it
@Danny_dan92 most companies or conglomerates by another business either because it's profitable or to kill off competition and create a monopoly. I see no context in which this makes any sense from a business standpoint.
Right. Cause Twitter is a platform where people can express themselves, thus censoring a particular group of people aka
Conservatives, is cannibalistic to the platforms intended use.
Just cause someone voted for someone you hate and might disagree with you on something doesn’t mean you have the right to completely silence them. That’s downright cruel and immature
I guess he will fix it
Great news
He's the boss 😎
Good.
I think it’s awesome
Good.
Shit is a shit regardless of who's shit it is
Great.
That's a good thing.
I don't use twitter
Not surprised
