Free speech only for elon musk's ideology. I seriously dont believe that he will fix anything except taking free speech from specific groups but use it only for his own profit like twitter did before. He knows how media have so much power and therefore he wants to use it for his own profit.
- +1 y
Maybe he seriously let everyone including radical left and radical right do whatever they want. This would be so funny. There may be an internet war between these both radical groups. Loool. This would be entertaining
- +1 y
So it’s okay a for jack dorsey to censor a TRUE story about Hunter Biden before the 2020 election? I bet you weren’t complaining about the “media being controlled” back then.
- +1 y
Nice accusations and strawman arguments Read my other updates too.

@hi_it_is_me123 there are a lot better deals out there then buying Twitter. Elon musk isn’t doing this solely for profit. He’s not a staunch Republican either. He donated to HRC in 2016.
No he truly wants social media to be the a fair and true open platform it once was before the liberal elites pushed their Marxist bullshit.
I personally don’t want a conservative dominated social media. I want social media to be what it once was back in 2015: transparent and (mostly) non partisan.
Also the Hunter Biden Twitter censorship incident is no f*cking “strawman argument”. That was beyond disgusting. That was true Orwellian meddling. - +1 y
In 2015 i remember how problematic videos like porn, cutting off head by radical Islamists were on youtube if i dont remember wrong. Social media won't be non partisan. Look at GaG despite having no censorship as twitter

Marxist bs such as? In my experience everything what liberal get insulted as marxist. So it is overused and misused. It is kinda ironic when elites push marxism -so it does not make sense to me

+1 yIt's a baby step in the right direction. None of us that value a return to decency should rest on our laurels. Elon's takeover is insignificant in the grand scheme of things.
The Shrieking Eels think, and "reason" like playground bullies. They consider themselves "oppressed" by the buyout, because it means they don't get to be the oppressors. Zero sum, all or nothing cry-bullies.
Wokeism is all about taking every demonic lie ever crafted, and using it to spawn a political action fervor they can hide under, like bugs hiding under a rock, and pretend like this gives virtue to their bloodlust.
In the end, they need human sacrifice to appease their own deranged egos. Woke Twitter gave them the perfect way to do that. But they got greedy, and misused the platform's influence to get other companies to resort to doing things of questionable legality to undermine and destroy competitors, such as Parler.
Their message to anyone who had literally any reason to disagree with their cult views on any subject: "We will not allow you even one square inch of this planet to live in peace, until we have either destroyed you, or assimilated you to our equivalent of the Borg!"
Which is also how Pooh runs China. Locals never outright condemn it on the news in the west, because they'd be brutally and sadistically murdered in a Shanghai prison cell if they were honest. Pooh can never be tortured enough to equal out the atrocities against the innocent he's already stained his hands with! Second only to Mao, Xi stands as possibly the most evil man that ever lived. And many don't want to believe it's even possible!
Yet, this is why we need to get more youths to form private militias. Use the opportunity that homeschooling affords. Because Team Biden is just gonna put a lot of you in a FEMA guillotine anyway, because Lord Schwab has declared you unfit to exist, because Soylent Green or whatever. At least give these lawless snakes a better reason to want you dead!
My point is, if liberty isn't guarded vigilantly, Tweets will soon be meaningless.01 Reply- +1 y

Anonymous(30-35)+1 yHonestly, I don't care, the rich control us. I don't like him but I don't hate him either. But this whole notion of free speech is really stupid. Free speech means understanding the right morals and ethics of life. For example, if people on national television support Ukraine (which I do) and say we need to stand up against tyranny and injustice but are silent against Palestine... People are picking and choosing what they view as "freedom of speech". People can't push their own personal biases aside and that's the problem. There are racist people here on GAG who don't like Black people or Muslim people, but if a Muslim person helped them by giving them food or some money because they are short of cash or struggling will their perception change? I don't know.
Even I know freedom of speech does not mean I lash out at others who are or are not vaccinated, who wear a mask or don't wear a mask. I am not tied to hundreds or thousands of ideologies because I know this system is bullshit -- capitalism or communism. It was to favour a certain class yet we use our 'twitter fingers' to voice our concerns about politicians we adore (based on bias/preference), why? It doesn't solve anything and that person is not richer either. Freedom of speech has limits, if it involves hate, it's not free speech. If someone did a crime or something terrible, yea free speech can be said. This world is divided. But more hate could erupt from 'freedom of speech'.00 Reply
Anonymous(30-35)+1 ySage,
I just Googled it, and it's not finalized, but it could be announced today.
What are my thoughts? If it happens, the Dims are going to shit bricks, and I love when they shit bricks. I've been watching the talking heads on CNN and MSNBC crying about this for a couple of weeks. They say that the end of democracy is near, because Elon believes in free speech. lol
November is already going to be a blood bath for the woke left, and if Trump gets back on Twitter, they will all just crawl into their safe spaces, and rock in the fetal position. lol

544 opinions shared on Trending & News topic. As I said before, I don't use nor do I ever plan to use Twitter regardless of who owns it, but from the standpoint of promoting actual free speech and public discourse, it's very likely that this will be a good thing for the general public, and less so for those who try to weaponize the platform for censorship. It's probably overly optimistic to believe this could lead to more competitive practices from other forms of social media, especially since Twitter is relatively small compared to say Facebook/Meta and TikTok.
It's rather pathetic though that it took a billionaire making a literal "deal you can't refuse" to make any meaningful change on a platform that has been in observable decline for years.10 Reply391 opinions shared on Trending & News topic. It can only be a good thing if he ends political censorship on that platform.
Censorship is one of the greatest threats to humanity. It makes monopolization of information possible. An informed electorate is a prerequisite for freedom and democracy.
The U. S. Declaration of Independence talks about natural, self evident, unalienable rights of all people. The Bill of rights did not "grant rights", it merely listed some of the rights that the government may not infringe upon. Since that document was ratified, ass holes have tried incessantly to infringe upon human rights. Fuck them.
I HATE censorship and the Democratic party that has become its champion. I value liberty and the right to gather information and make up my own mind on issues.10 ReplyI am more confused to why conservatives are acting happy about this... They do know Elon musk is left as hell and is dating grimes which they've called their children weird alien names for the exact purpose of been "progressive."
But for some reason right wings are going "yah this gonna lead to freedom of speech for our conservative views."
Like Elon at some point became Trump?
Anyway myself couldn't care. I am left myself but Elon musk has never had my respect. To me it's no different to saying Jeff bezos bought it. Like what on earth do I care other than it's a big waste of money that if rich people won't so tonedeaf and out of touch of reality that could of gone to much better things.02 Reply- +1 y
Jeff Bezos bought "The Washington Post" actually. "Democracy Dies in Darkness".

Change of hands to a “disguised Leftist” who has the Right pushing him into President. Musk’s money is in Leftist, anti-Oil independence, therefore, this Boys leanings are Leftists. He’s going to crackdown in a way this country can’t imagine. ALWAYS FOLLOW MONEY TRAIL ‼️

+1 yThat is EXCELLENT news and way overdue. Musk is going to crack down on the bullshit leftist censorship. This blatant Marxism by tech giants is horrifying and disgusting. Twitter completely blew this out of the water when they censored the true Hunter Biden story. They also deleted the conservative satire account the Babylon Bee. Again it was SATIRE and they deleted it anyway. Elon Musk was a fan of that account and that was what pushed him over the edge.
I don’t want Twitter or any other social media platform going completely conservative. I just want fairness. It’s time to give cancel culture a hard punch in the face.00 Reply
Anonymous(36-45)+1 yIt's probably a good thing on net. Free speech is the single most valuable thing we have. It is the key to solving all problems.
The real question is will the other Gatekeepers such as Apple, Google, Microsoft, Bank of America, Comcast, various Government agencies etc... now start marginalizing twitter's market and finance access?
To the people who clime to the top of theses organizations freedom of speech is a very dangerous thing, because it threatens their control of the public behavior that secures their position.10 Reply- 1K opinions shared on Trending & News topic.

Even if it has completely good intentions, Twitter can't be saved. Its users are toxic and most of the people on there are bots. Twitter only exists as a propaganda tool for corporations to use to cancel people with and spread misinformation under the guise of it coming from "normal people." So unless he bought Twitter to purge it from society, I don't see what the point is.10 ReplyYay! Woo-hoo! Let's celebrate! +1 yCurrently I cannot hate twitter anymore and their "free press" dream that devolved into a dictatorship that blocks any individual that has a "wrong" opinion.
So Elon Musk can only change it for better, so I'm happy about it.00 ReplyTime will tell, but i generally prefer private company's over the big investors and with his vouch to allow proper debate and untwist the algorytms we might be returning to a better era.
Problem is the government doesn't enjoy freedom and may force him to censor again. So he will have to find a good way around that or his investment is worth nothing.00 ReplyI think he's making himself illusions about being able to bring up free speech.
Because twitter still has to follow the common laws and if a government decides that twitter is breaking them they can still shut down the whole thing no matter if who owns twitter.00 ReplyProbably will go down in history as the dumbest business decision since the time when Yahoo! bought Tumblr for 700 million.
But I don't care either way, I can't care less about Musk and I don't use Twitter because it's garbage.
That being said, I don't see how not moderating content any longer could possibly benefit the site.
The biggest problem of Twitter is that the user content is cancerous shit, there being even more of it seems kind of counterproductive to me, but ok.00 Reply

Anonymous(36-45)+1 ygood riddens that the people who ran that site are on the way out , when the internet first came out in the 90's it was all about freedom and was never censorship or fear of being kicked off sites back then. these people ruined the internet and were trying to turn it into something that only yielded political benefits for the people they supported. musk was right that it needs new direction and that freedom of speech is more important
00 ReplyHopefully it is a very good thing. The only way you can know the truth is if all views, opinions, facts and arguments, can be freely expressed. Of course the powers are not going to want to hear that on average blacks commit more crime and have lower IQs and that while women earn less than men when all factors are considered women's salaries are equal to or even greater then men's salaries for identical work.
