Do you think it's wrong for them to use this mugshot for a news story?

A woman near where I live was arrested and the local news station's facebook page used this highly unflattering mugshot of her for the thumbnail. She's a school principal, so I bet there are plenty of school-taken photos of her to use, but no, they chose this one.

The reason why she's getting mocked for her image is she has no fillers isn't botoxed up to her eyeballs and not using tonnes of photoshop, otherwise looks like any other woman.

The story was about her arrest right? So why wouldn't they use the pic ( her mug shot photo) taken at time of arrest? That's a standard thing.

In my state arrest records are public due to the Florida's Sunshine Law. If you don't want someone using your mugshot, don't break the law. I'm guessing the story was about her arrest.

Melissa Nance was arrested on charges of fraudulent statements/representations, conspiracy, and obtaining an object of value with intent to defraud. She created a fraudulent business for educational consulting and then used it to steal money from the school district. Her and her accomplishes owe $84,171.06 to tax payers now. Maybe if she wasn’t stealing money, there would have been enough to do a better job on your dumbass.

You know how much a teacher generally gets in cash to buy what they need for the year to educate 5-6 classes? Maybe $200 dollars. That is about a dollar student. She stole that dollar from 84,171 students.

You know Nichols Elementary School in Biloxi only has about 340 students. That means Melissa Nance stole nearly 248 years of education materials from children in that community. That's one way to keep your community dumb and insure they never do better for themselves.

It's public record. That sort of information is easy to find in under 10 seconds. I can easily find out a lot more than that...

I did a reverse image search to determine who she was and from there I was able to find out more about her. Google also has a reverse image search feature in their search engine. You can try it if you want and see if it leads you to a result with her name. ? Just go to their image search and click on the camera and then upload the image or past a url to the image you posted here.

I just did a reverse image search on Google and she popped up. Thanks for the tip on this feature I didn't know about. But this post has gotten 900+ shares, most of which are about her appearance.

That's hw mugshots work. People don't get to choose what mugshot gets used. Why should Melissa Nance be any different?

When a person is arrested, news organizations will use the mugshot photo regardless of who he or she is. It's the norm / standard.
