I heard that they have both cameras and people watching and can see what items are run through the scanner and can compare it with the number of scans. It's funny that a person can walk into a jewelry store and steal a $ million dollars worth of diamonds and get away with it while someone forgets to scan an item and gets tossed into the hoosegow.

They are thieves and cameras are not catching them. There are always people who want to go against the rules.

Some dishonest people will find ways to beat the system. Personally, I like using self-checkout, unless I have a huge amount of groceries. It's sad that Wegmans is getting rid of it
