What are your thoughts of the new rules set today for Twitter by Elon Musk?

Do you justify it or not? For me it affects me in some way as my account is not verified and I will only have access of 800 free twits which includes comments, and read twits from other accounts. If I exceed those 800 then I will have to pay for Twitter. I liked Twitter beause news and information came as soon as the news break out and also photos come inmmediately. Now I will have to find another similar page as Twitter (which I dont know if there is one out there) to get my info as soon as it happens and it not restricted to people.

Do you send more than 800 tweets a month? If not, this won't impact you in any way. You'll still get news at the same speed, and reading other accounts doesn't cost anything.

I'd bet that far less than 5% of Twitter users send more than 800 tweets a month, and I'd guess a lot of them already have Twitter Blue accounts.

My account is not blue verified ( I won't pay for it) so I only have access to 800 and not I dont tweet 800 a month but I do check pages on Twitter everyday and even reading accoutns from other people or companies are included on those 800. I mean from what I understand those 800 include even if you read a tweet or comment a tweet. Even for reading something it is account as one tweet.

So, it looks like this is a TEMPORARY situation, brought on by massive amount of bots scraping the database. I have no inside knowledge of this particular situation, but I know that Twitter has plenty of top coders now and I'm sure they'll get this straightened out. It's not quite the same, but the situation is similar to a DDOS (distributed denial of service) attack - the bots are consuming incredible amounts of bandwidth all at once, which makes it difficult for normal users to use the site. This move is kind of like a field bandage - it's just to get the patient to the hospital where they can get more robust treatment. I'd guess that things will be back to normal within a few days, perhaps a week. Note that this attack occurred on a holiday weekend - you can bet that's no accident.
