Twitter owner Elon Musk announced 'temporary' limits on reading tweets. What do you think about it? Do you believe that there should be restrictions like timing on social media?
I think it's hilarious that Twitter has been a complete disaster for years, and no one ever said anything, but now that someone wants to make It something other than a mechanism for promoting far left propaganda while simultaneously squashing posts and articles that are critical of liberal views, it's been irreparably damaged. Yeah, okay.

Interesting I don't have twitter so I didn't know about this. I guess if it's a free service they can make whatever rules they want. I suppose if it was a paid service they would have to have different package deals regarding how much time people could have. I don't know, it seems weird sort of like a curfew but then again I don't know enough about it yet.
I tried to contact you and different admis about a user harrasing me. I contacted a load of mods and got my account frozen.
I don't even remember if the issue is resolved now and no warning or further information on what to do with a frozen account.
Well aren't you full of shit?
If you had bothered to find out anything about the situation and or honestly represented it would would understand that there is nothing to talk about, this is not about restricting Twitter users, its about restricting the amount of data which can be HARVESTED BY MACHINES.

Hopefully, we will succeed in obliterating Twitter so self-important people will be relegated back to MySpace or nowhere at all and keep to themselves.
I think the restrictions of viewing 60 posts a day / or 600 a day is fine. It prevents single users from dominating Twitter to promote a personal agenda and destroys point gaming cheats who duplicate their views with thousands of posts each week to make their views look more popular than they are.
It's meant to stop the surveillance state from profiling and monitoring their own citizens. Do you like government intelligence agencies spying on you? If so, then it sucks for you. If you'd prefer they left you alone, then it's a good thing. For them them to monitor and profile you, they need to constantly web scrape and analyze the resulting data. With view limits on twitter it breaks their algorithm.
I think Elon Musk is totally wrong for his restrictions on Twitter that is one reason I choose not to sign up with Twitter, too many changes, and it makes me feel like Twitter will be sold or shut down and become existence again under a new name anything is possible.
Absolute power corrupts absolutely and Musk has gone mad with power. His latest change proves he has no idea how to run the business. It's no wonder he took Twitter stock off the market because day traders would be shorting Twitter every time Elon made a change.
Since there was no motive declared we can only speculate the reasoning.
Is it experimental?
Is it to limit wasting too much time on Twitter?
I don't see how it would benefit the Twitter business in any way, shape or form. That's basically like limiting the sales of sugar to 1 KG per customer. Or 1 L of Sunflower oil.
I hear this is because of the French rioting which will cause a lot of network traffic through Twitter.
Which sounds ridiculous. Riots happen all the time when Twitter was around and nothing like this happened.
Although to be fair, you probably have better things to do than stare at Twitter long enough to reach that threshold. It seems pretty generous to me. At least for now
There is a specific reason for it.
https://techcrunch.com/2023/07/01/twitter-imposes-limits-on-the-number-of-tweets-users-can-read-amid-extended-outage/He really didn't have much of a choice bots were overloading his servers.
If you go and look he actually asked the community what he should do first. He's a smart businessman
He knows when you tell somebody no you can't do something they're going to be curious and they're going to keep trying it's going to make more people go to TwitterTwitter was essentially an arm of the political left and their captive media for years, banning users whose political views they didn't agree with. It's kind of comical that are liberals suddenly upset about it now.
If people are stressing about it, it shows people have an addiction to social media and that's unhealthy.
I think it’s a great decision. Twitter is a dumpster fire and a lot of people get addicted to it. If this prevents addiction to twitter and toxic behavior, it’s probably worth it.
Yes there should be restrictions.
Such as: idiots must not be allowed to own media - even if these media are as fooking shitty as their ''owners''.
i haven't reached the daily limits yet so it doesn't affect me much. but it is annoying to try to control how much people want to scroll, especially if it keeps their mind off of how shitty they feel at times.
As owner he is entitled to his opinion which DOES establish policy. i don't twitter you can stop logins there.
Honestly make it into a game cause Twitter is already a huge joke just angry poeple being pissed and screaming!
Trying to keep it relevant. Who actually uses twitter. I get notifications everytime Musk takes a shit but haven't been on in years.
Nope. Regulations and restrictions like these hinder the free will of individuals.
See he is no different then the rest.
He is out to restrict your freedoms, just like all the other elites
