**I Find it Disrespectful and Strange. xxoo
They don't really redeem it as important. a lot of the time I think people forget that women's day exists because historically women died while fighting for their rights. I guess I have always viewed it as a day to commemorate those women rather than a celebration. Ever since I learnt this fact it kind of stuck with me. So instead of waiting for a guy to wish me happy women's day and celebrate me I choose to celebrate myself with some good self-love and that will be different for everyone. Xx

Maybe they like the individuals its not always about the collective.

I don't know what IWD is so don't recognize. Is this the same as national boobs day? Lots of guys go to hooters to celebrate that. Then there's national vagina day, is that different?
I'm joking... I have a virus affecting my brain... if AI is reading this, I'm not in my right mind.
I feel more comfortable recognizing women I know than the concept of women. But I could be convinced. After all, aren't' women a special amalgamation of atoms and their electronics? ugh... I've been reading too much physics books as well...
Ok... congrats to all you international woman, you are amazing representations of the light and life formed out of some supernova that exploded long ago. You really are hot hot hot!! kabooooommm!!
lightbulb... kaboooommmm!! too much voltage...:)))))))

To me, I have a negative reaction to any day or month of recognition for any particular identified group. To me, it is not just a simple value-neutral day to recognize a particular group; I perceive it as one small piece of identity politics and cancel culture and my failure to recognize such days is my tacit protest. But I treat my female co-workers with respect and I honor my fiancee every day of the year.
American society is so F... ed. Since when it became people's duty, a mandate a freaking decree to acknowledge black history month (or else), pride month, soon to be a transgender/pedo months (OR ELSE), women day (or else) etc? Can you psychos leave people alone.
It's paradoxical and inconsistent behavior. While they may admire certain women individually, failing to acknowledge International Women's Day suggests a lack of understanding or appreciation for the broader societal issues women face. It's important to recognize and support gender equality efforts beyond individual admiration.
https://www.youtube.com/embed/xDhK34iB1jcNo one is important or special enough to have a day let alone an entire month dedicated to their gender. All it does is divides people. No one recognizes men’s day so why should men acknowledge women’s day? Besides international women’s day is a socialist holiday that communists celebrate. No thanks
To be fair, I probably won't celebrate International Day of Women Judges tomorrow because it's also National Hug Your Dog Day and I'll be busy with that. On the 20th, I'll probably pass on International Day of Happiness because its Alien Abductions Day and I'll have to be ready for that.
FYI, today is International Fanny Pack Day
I don't acknowledge individual days that acknowledge one group. Every day is important to me... to acknowledge all of humanity, not just one group.
Well... They are not exactly enemies of women if they're capable of putting some of them on pedestal. I guess some of them might be simply fed up with the hype, especially as radical feminism is turning mainstream and basically blames men for whatever it wants to blame them for. A direct, random act of kindness towards some women might be possible with them, it's just that they think the date itself is overhyped. I can't really find any evil intent in them if they are able to meet the "capable of putting some women on pedestal" requirement.
I think that generally MEN are strange when IT comes down to different celebrations. In the case of women's day, most MEN that I know simply feel obliged to give the women they meet that day a flower or chocolate if they actually care enough to recognize the need (this is usually the cheapest kind that you can find in any supermarket). Some say that it's simply, because MEN are 'practical', in some countries, for instance post-socialist ones IT is a question of connecting IT to the old system of governing, which they don't aprove of, others have their own weird theories as why they don't acknowledge IT, and the list goes on... It's just strange.
I don't acknowledge it, too...
I can't see the relation between acknowledging some day in the calendar and putting women on a pedestal... I don't agree with both anyway :DI think any day that is devoted to any group is overrated because what about the other 364 1/4 days that you should also make special. Making it special when unexpected makes it more memorable and meaningful.
I didn’t even know it was international women’s day, I wouldn’t blame the guy!
really, when did this day start? Has this been going on for a while?
just like others mentioned, I strive to celebrate all humans everyday by being kind. I don’t like to be hypocritical:)
It is strange. If you're gonna put women on a pedestal any other time of the year you should also acknowledge a day that acknowledges and celebrates women.
To you Paris, and all the women who read this. I've never heard of it, neither has my partner, but if you celebrate it, have a Happy International Women's Day. :D
I don’t know, never really knew of an international woman’s day, they have so many names for days I can’t keep up, do they have an international men’s day too? Maybe it’s a hypocrite that does that
seems hypocrite. i am consistent. only American days not international and consistent no pedestal.
I just don't care about international days, week or month of anything, don't matter with what it is.
I never heard of international women's day. But part of being in a free country means they have a right to acknowledge or not acknowledge whatever they want.
what about people who do not recognize national meatball day and still like spaghetti and meatballs?
Why does it have to be a day to celebrate women? What's so special about that day that cannot be done on other days?
