Was the worth it, Russian invasions of Ukraine?

On news tonight, they floated 850,000 Russian deaths or injuries severally. It this worth it for Russia? Comments welcomed

Yes.
- There is no way that Russia would ever let Crimea be taken over by a hostile state.
- There was no way Russia would allow NATO forces to occupy Ukraine.
- It was a humanitarian move to protect ethnic Russians and Russian speaking people in Crimea and eastern Ukraine. Those people begged for Russia's protection from Ukrainian Nazi attrocities.

If the U. S. was in Russia's position, it would have done the same thing. As it is, the U. S. only destroys countries that are no threat.

The invasion could have been averted if the U. S. and NATO countries hadn't advised Zelenski not to negotiate peace. After all, Russia patiently tried to negotiate or 8 years before it realized that it had no other alternatives.

Grouping injured with dead is stupid for misleading sensation. Like our hotdogs are "60% beef and fat".

If 800,000 injured will return to work force, then on a country scale no big change.

And the land gained, many square miles was definitely worth the dead. Because "land is worth dying for" in any culture.

Also russia had stored around 10,000 useless old tanks and now they are used. From a cold logic viewpoint war was worth it.

In 1945, Russia annexed for the third time a slice of land from Romania of about 51,100 km².
How many people do you think Russia sacrificed for this piece of land that today is the poorest country in Europe (Rep. Moldova).
Romania's losses for the recovery and defense of this territory are approximately 800,000 people (soldiers + civilians) + 100,000 people deported to Siberia and/or arrested and executed.
The price paid by Russia to hold on to this bug at all costs was over 20,000,000/25,000,000 people.

So I can ask you the same thing, was it worth it?
As a Romanian, I would say no and that it was a very bad deal for Russia.
Russia still believes that it was a very good deal, but that it could have been even better.

Sure! Lose a whole generation of young people, sabotage all trade relation, largely deplete your monetary fund, have your own infrastructure destroyed and be known as the butchers and rapists of innocent civilians, I bet for Putin it was worth it.
