Former teacher of the year Jacqueline Ma arrested and sentenced to 30 years to life for having sex with student boys 11 and 12. Your thoughts?

I tell you what struck me is the stiff prison sentenced. 30 years. To life. Mary K Letourneau only got 7 and a half years. When she was sentenced. Do you think Ma's race, or teacher of the year standing, had any impact on this? Do you think the fact that this keeps happening it's finally starting to sink in to the justice system that women are just as capable of being predators as men?

Honestly 30 years seemed way too harsh to me. I guess I come from a period of time which a number of the boys ( generally larger ones though 13 + ) often has sex with some female teachers , so they were older than hers , but it was so common and they would brag about it , and they always went for the ones who looked older.

Obviously exactly the same happened no doubt with the girls.

It seems far too long when you compared with manslaughter , but she obviously did the wrong thing..8- 10 years I would have thought would be enough.

She deserves LESS punishment than men got, because statutory is less severe than real rape, this harsh punishment is corrupt,
