Are we humans still the top of the food chain? Or tigers?

Obviously we are high up the food chain... i mean fish eaten by bigger fish eaten by humans , octopus eaten by human, bugs eaten by birds eaten by humans.

Human

Fish

smaller fish

Grass and plants eaten by cows, in turn eaten by us, we basicly rule and eat everything... as agent smith said like a virus! We even hunt tigers bears lions and more powerful predators but... this year already many tiger attacks! Increased instances of humans being killed, and in many instances eaten, by tigers.

In month may, two more attacks, both near the Tadoba Andhari Tiger Reserve, brought the total number of human deaths by tiger in Chandrapur to 22 since the start of 2025. Eleven attacks occurred in a span of 17 days in May. 2, when a tiger killed a lady. Later they found a man's remains, mutilated by a tiger.

Somehow a different monsoon does not seem to "cause" tigers to leave a reserve and eat people but for a sensational news bit that is what they say caused it! Not tiger nature... "due to ecological changes".

Makes my wonder how tigers got OUT of the reserve, over a fence? And doubt if having a tiger reserve is a good idea... but does this mean we are not the top of the food chain, tigers when they can, do eat us?

Are we humans still the top of the food chain? Or tigers?
