The easy media cover up is to call him a crazy person and dismiss it to distract from what actually happened. In reality the video footage shows he spotted her when she was on the platform. That he was targeting her before she even got on the train. They didn't interact on the train. He had a target to assassinate. When you watch the surveillance footage it's easy to see when he spots his target, he knows it's on, and he prepares for the kill.

Being that he noticed the victim on the platform and anticipated her getting on the train, it would infer that he either knew the victim, has been briefed on the victim with photographic material, or he has previously stalked the victim in preparation.
