China won't retaliate, they'll negotiate until a good trade deal is arranged that benefits both sides. That will satisfy everyone, but if the U. S. gets into a weak position again with incompetent leadership, China won't bother to retaliate, they'll just overtake us at that point and never allow us to be in a position of power again. That's why it's so important for the progress we've made to continue. I don't think enough people understand that yet.
