That’s not socialism. FYI, the same people who were filthy rich in the ‘60s are still filthy rich today. Many of them are even richer. That’s pure unadulterated capitalism, friend. The largest transfer of wealth in human history was all done by the books.
But wait… there’s more! The same people who get filthy rich under capitalism will get filthy rich under socialism. Watch Mamdani and his cronies. They’re not going to be the ones in the poorhouse when they’re done with NYC. The WHOLE system is rigged and it doesn’t matter what you call it. The rich always get richer and the poor always get poorer.
if this is true then what do you suggest? is there an alternative? is there some place that has it right?
No.
It is women joining the workforce and doubling the worker pool.
Twice as many workers so the pay stagnates so 2 usually have to work.
we have always had capitalism. The graphic you have is really democrat propaganda. There are still plenty of opportunity in America. The people that cannot afford a house are the same people that majored in gender studies at some fancy private college and is saddled with debt.
That's not socialism, that's because of capitalism. Socialism you at least get decent benefits from your taxes, but we can't even guarantee decent roads
It won't happen over night maybe in 5 to 10 years

these are not examples of socialism at all. and socialism has been around for significantly longer than 70 years.
we also cannot singular suggest the housing issue is a result of socialism but rather rapidly rising costs with exponentially lower wage growth
Boy, there's that tough question for our historians. What US-presidency might have happened in the 1980s that made everything tougher for the middle and lower classes?
@Danzigdawson no he is not my son. so please explain what you have to say instead of namecalling?
@Sevenpointfive Wtf are you even talking about? My (now deleted) comment was directed at @hagar88.
Yes, it can be done. We need honest politicians who fight for the middle-class citizens, we need excellent educators focused on teaching, we need to ignore the mass media into bankruptcy, and we need to shit down the hate in the Left.
I hope so.

@Massageman That is a great graphic
The price of the same house that people tended to buy in the 1960s is the same share of full-time wages then as it is now. The quality of housing has improved.
LOL, you don't know the meaning of "socialism" kiddo.
we were never socialists, it’s always been capitalism here in the USA, maybe you want it to be socialism?
it didn't start yet?
It's going to take a large cultural shift.
