Also, the Straight of Hormuz was open before Trump attacked. After attacked, Iran closed it to embargo Israel and put economic pressure on the U. S. as a negotiation tactic. And, if the U. S. can use embargoes against other countries, why can't Iran use it as a defensive measure?

Also ironically, after assassinating Iranian leaders, Trump and Israel may have incentivized Iran to pursue nukes as a defense.
