Did we blow off Cinco DeMayo this year?

i usually they make a big deal about it. Biden wanted to make it a national holiday. I just saw something about it today and realized it was two days ago.

I don't watch TV, so I didn't hear anything about it.

I had to leave at 1:30 to drive an hour to my eye doctor. On the way back, I stopped at Costco to top off my gas tank, then bought a few groceries at SaveMart. After that, I bought some Pad Thai and brought it home to eat for dinner.

On my travels, I didn't see anything that reminded me of Cinco de Mayo. If I had, I might have gotten a wet, chorizo burrito at a good Mexican restaurant I know and had that instead of Pad Thai.

Before 2000, when I was active in the other town near us and still marginally involved with the Unitarian Universalist congregation there, my wife and I often engaged in Cinco de Mayo activities.

I blow it off every year. It's a Mexican holiday, not an American one. The only Independence Day I care about is Quatro DeJuly a. k. a July 4th. 'Murica!

I ordered Mexican food, but i didn’t go out to celebrate. I have started another sobriety mission and i’m avoiding bars.
Frankly, my annual reminder of Cinco de Mayo is usually the “Star Wars” meme holiday that precedes it on May 4th. I only experience fanfare when i go to bars. Lots of tequila and cerveza.
