Is the newspaper industry dying, or will print still exist in 50–100 years?

Like my dad still reads the newspapers, but he is in his 70s. Will there even be newspapers in 50-100 years?

I think the newspaper industry is dying and they won't be around in 50 years time.

Personally my opinion is newspapers are as relevant as they have ever been, and I buy one usually at every opportunity.

I like the information they give inside the newspapers I would never hear about except in newspapers, and I like reading the sport pages too.

Also newspapers give the information in a much better way to digest than reading from computers, mobiles or watching TV.

But nowadays people can easily access the news headlines etc for free, and they must think mistakenly why pay for newspapers they are now unnecessary.

yes paper for news and magazines fell drastically as people used internet more! even in 2007 magazines were losing customers and dropped prices.

now it is much rarer to buy and a waste of paper to print at all. i doubt even 9% of people age 18-30 read any paper reading besides college required. probably 91% don't read any paper news nor books.

in one sample a very popular newspaper lost thousands of buyers. losing 25% of its reader buy, in 2 years. maybe they read its website. maybe they didn't like the agenda?

I guess there will always be a niche audience so it won't go completely away but it won't be as popular as it's still today.

its almost dead here , our local paper which had existed since the 1870's no longer prints a paper versions is a digital site

and this daily paper i used to buy 10 years ago before work is like barely 20-30 pages now and has almost no content , i haven't bought one in like 4 years, is no point at all now , it still has a digital site worth clicking on but actual newspaper is worthless

I feel it's becoming less and less popular. Even in the world of literature many prefer digital over printed media. I for one prefer holding an actual book in my hands.
