These days it seems like a lot of people will read or see a news story that says “allegedly” in the title but will take it as it has actually been proven to be true.

If a news article or peeson says “allegedly” it means what they are saying hasn’t been proven to be true.

I’m sick of people repeating unproven claims as if they are facts or proven to be true.

yes it is one of those big fancy words but it means 'someone said'. but not guilty yet. the problem is it is a fancy word, so most people skip it. like 'he allegedly stole 2 cars' skip and see 'he blabla stole 2' so they know for how many he is guilty!

Most people do but if it's something they want to be true, you can usually just throw out logic and reason and they just act like it's true.
