It's claimed that many Americans cannot even find the United States on a map.
We're not sure that's true, but here's a video from the TV show Family Feud that shows just how geographically challenged some Americans are.
What do you think?
Are most Americans that bad when it comes to geography?
Or is this just a weird combination of people showing their ignorance?

I would say if it's not true it's headed that way the elites run our government our government or nothing but puppets and allow teachers not to teach our kids in school because at least are so afraid if we all understand our power that we actually really have that we will control the world Louise it is supposed to have been
That's why all the other things are happening the banking our food not teaching our kids
Look at China look at Japan look at every other country their kids are their investment and that's what they're investing in America the Great America doesn't want our kids to be taught they want our kids to be stupid because the elite are too fucking scared they're paranoid that somebody is going to control them like they're trying to control us
And look at our so-called government they are allowing it to happen because that's how they get their donations from the elite to be reelected and we are so ignorant and stupid it's unreal
Unfortunately, the media may be exaggerating the ignorance of the average US citizen about the rest of the world and our own country but yeah, it's pretty damned pathetic. People are always intrigued by my life and they invariably ask "where" I've been. I start rattling off the names of countries I've been in and see their eyes glaze over. But they never want stop me and ask where those places are thereby admitting they have no idea what I'm talking about. So, I'll stop and ask them if they know where Suriname or Rwanda is. They don't. They don't know European history. They aren't aware of current events outside the USA. It's a big reason they are empty buckets for Fascist propaganda.
How can a superpower, the richest nation on earth, not afford to teach kids basic shit like where they live? I can understand if they can't point to Uzbekistan but America? Come on no one is that dumb.
At least you people all know the difference between the United Kingdom, Great Britain, and British Isles. That's the important thing. l
I think most Americans are bad at basic geography.
I've seen some of those "Man on the street" shows asking college students geography questions and they were embarrassing.
There was a really nice black guy in a geology class I took who couldn't identify Africa on a map. He wasn't stupid. He had just never been taught.
The deceptive part of “Jay Walking” and other gimmicks is they spend a few hours on the street interviewing a bunch of people, but show only the ones that make an entire society look stupid. There no comedy value in showing people who know the right answers.
I'm pretty sure many Americans are geographically illiterate, yes.
Some of us actually know that Georgia is both a country, and a state, and we can find Ethiopia on a map, but there are sadly many that don't even know the difference between a country, and a continent, nor can they name any of either.
The US education system is definitely lousy. For as little as the average graduate knows about their own country and its history, they know even less about world history, geography and politics.
The frustrating thing is that they all have access to the greatest amalgamation of knowledge the world has ever constructed in the internet. Yet they have little desire to use it for much more than sharing selfies and searching for porn. Least of all to fact check what they think they already know.
This is a testament to the sad state of our public education system. Perhaps teachers should try to teach the basics of reading, writing, arithmetic, science, etc. instead of teaching leftist indoctrination.
Due to a scheduling snafu in required Number of SS classes in high school, I had to take a Geography class during summer school. It was a total joke. Could have passed in fourth or fifth grade. Many of the rest couldn't even begin to even guess the answers.
The public schools stopped teaching geography and history about 15 years ago. Kids today could not find Canada on a map if their lives depended on it.
If Beardo or another REPIGLIKKKSCUM becomes President in '29, their life may well depend on finding Canada, especially if they're a POC !!!
@canamlusciouslad73 How are the welfare benefits for foreigners in Canada these days? Asking for a friend
Better than the cheesy Yankee pittances.
@canamlusciouslad73 Yeah, I bet if I went to Canada with my hand out, they would just spit in it.
Most can find u. s. on a map but remembering all 50 states and 50 more capital city is too many.
I once tried to memorize countries in north africa. At 20 i stopped i just couldn't recall all 20.
Uh yeah... unfortunately myself included. US education has gone to shit and my generation (Gen Z) has been completely fucked over. Can't imagine how much worse things will be for Gen Alpha if Gen Z is already this dumb.
Every U. S. comedy show has street interviews like this... it's a sad state of affairs. 🙁
https://www.youtube.com/embed/vmI6YpGew1wIt's not just Americans that are quite poor at basic geography.
I've met people in other countries who need improvement in this matter.
generally speaking, yes... Americans were CLUELESS, not dumb
just clueless about many things
but nowadays, yeah... we are DUMB AF
Americans got the fluoride and folic acid stare.
American education orbits around indoctrination there is no place for general knowledge
I'm pretty good with American geography thanks to the different jobs I have had.
It's a TV show, they are nervous as heck on there.
Americans are bad at geography because we have terrible, underfunded schools that are more concerned with being politically correct than actually educating children.
“I love the poorly educated” - Donald Trump
It's completely up to the person if they care to know where these locations are at.
Can't really tell. Not a US citizen, but for sure some bad examples come to us via internet.
Yes, they really are.
Aericans are largly HORRID at geography.
I think some people just get off guard.
Yes they are.
