Why hasn’t my crush text me back?

So I texted my crush (let’s call him Devin) last night to see if our Valentine date is still in for tomorrow. He didn’t respond back so I though he’ll text back in the morning. It’s like after 5pm and he STILL hasn’t texted me back YET! I’m not missing out on the Valentine date. I don’t know what to do.
If he doesn’t text or answer tomorrow, I’m calling it quits. Maybe he didn’t see my text.

My best friend told me, “See I told you something wasn’t right about that guy. He might be working but he isn’t right. If Devin doesn’t text back by tomorrow morning, or abandon you again, drop him. He abandoned you at prom back in high school REMEMBER? Maybe Devin changed his mind or it could be another girl. Don’t be surprised when he ditches you.”
I told her I didn’t need a lecture. I am sure hell text back tomorrow.

First of all, having those type of best friends surely doesn't sit well with me. unless she knows everything you do, you shouldn't listen to cut ties. if he's available elsewhere, it's bad news for you. if he's not available anywhere, maybe something happened to him

Very sus if you ask me. Take it as it comes but If he stands you up, don’t entertain the thought of having him back in your life when he decides to. You’re meant to be priority, not an if all else fails.
