if you liked a girl and you thought she was awesome and beautiful - but your friends would make fun of you because she's overweight - would you still go and ask her out? how much of an influence do your friends have over who you date and don't date?

i'm just asking because I think this is the case for this guy I like. he asks like he likes me and treats me differently whenever we're alone, but if there's somebody else there, he acts all nonchalant about me. I'm confused.

Well, I dated this girl who was, let's be honest, a little hefty...but I really liked her. Now I thought I was in deep with the sharks 'cause I hadn't had a stable reationship ever until I met her but I was kinda looking for just someone to date. I asked her out and she said yes to my surprise. Wel after about 2 weeks I found myself starting to fall in love with her...my friend did make fun of me for it but you ...know at least I had someone to care about and have someone to care about me. If a guy likes a girl he won't disregard you to someone else...well he shouldm'y anyway.

I would definitely still ask her out. I don't let my friends pressure me into doing or not doing things. If the guy you like's friends are really making fun of him for that then they aren't his true friends.

I have an 18 year old brother and in most cases they wont. Because they think there's more girls out there that my guys will like. And plus they don't want any drama. But, IF he REALLY likes you then he will ignore his friends and follow his feelings. He'll deffinately find out who his "true" friends are this way because a true friend only wants to see their friend happy and they'll accept that. Good luck girl :)

It depends on the guy, his friends, and how close he is to his friends. It really is a toss up. Often times though I think men and women succumb to peer pressure in these situations.
