I never really thought about this before because I have always gone for the lips, but someone asked if he should kiss a girl on a date or something, and I said sure but not the cheeks since it can signify friendship only.
But some girl commented that he should kiss her on the cheeks since it's the first time.
Wouldn't that leave the girl thinking he just wants to be friends? Any opinions girls/guys?
I really think it depends on the girl, and how she feels about the guy. Kisses on the cheek are unexpected and surprising, which is why I like it. That surprise alone makes it better than the whole anticipation/nervousness of doing the cliche thing, which is to kiss on the lips. It just feels too planned to me.
Personally I hate when guys kiss me on the cheek. It just makes me feel like I did something wrong or that they don't like me like that. But that is just my opinion. I have some friends that prefer the cheek first before lips so it is all about what the girl wants. Get to know the girl and her preferences if you are worried about it but most girls do like lips better if you know that they like you like that. Hope I helped!
I don't think it would signal friendship because personally, I don't get a lot of guy friends kissing me on the cheek. But I think it could depend on the girl. That's why I think its good to get to know them a little more first before you jump to lot of kissing.
No. If a guy kissed me on the cheek on a first date I'd consider him respectable and as if he wasn't trying to push anything on me too quickly. I don't really identify cheek kisses as a friends only type deal since my guy friends don't kiss me on the cheek at all.
