Why are women attracted to men with money?

girls are competative. they compete between other girls. guys compete between other guys too. and depending how they rank among men, they feel better about themselves. it works the same way for girls.

the only difference is, for guys, it's about who has more sex, with more girls, and with the best looking girls, without having to do as much to have said sex. when a guy feels he's significantly higher relative to other men in this department, he feels better about himself as a man.

for girls, it's about who has the bigger house, in the more expensive area, the more expensive car, the more expensive jewlery, the more expensive clothes, the most luxurious vacations, and of course, more of them and bigger than the ones her girlfriends had or will ever have. when a girl feels she's significantly higher relative to other women in this department, she feels better about herself as a woman.

the only problem is, this stuff costs a lot of money, and money doesn't grow on trees. money takes time and hard work. and to be quite honest, we're lazy. we're not totally lazy, but compared to everything we want, and what we actually have to do to get the money to afford all of it, f--- that, we're lazy.

so a girl thinks, if I had to accumulate enough wealth (money, power) to have item X, and item X costs Y units of effort and Z units of money; it would take me 50-60 years just to have it and not have anything else.

but if I found a guy who was rich, it would take me much less time than that to have what I want; because he already put in the effort so he can have the money to get what I want.

so rather than make it our long-term goal to build up our human capital by schooling & work experience, and then work hard and save, then invest smart, until we have what we want; it's just much easier to try and find a guy who will or would have already done all of that.

but the reason it's easier is because men make it easier. men are generally honest, which makes them naive and stupid, and easy targets to manipulate. rich men aren't as easy as other guys, but there are still some rich guys that can be conned; especially if they're really old.

they'll tolerate no sex or a lack of sex, which buys you time to establish a relationship, and by that time, it's cost them enough money to not want to back off until they have sex, which is perfect because that's where you want them; spending more money. now, if he's really rich, you just pull the "good-girl" morality card, and make up a reason why you don't "believe" in sex until marriage, or that you feel it'll be more special if you wait, and you appreciate how much he respects you for it. then you simply never agree to a pre-nup, get married, wait a year or two depending on the state laws, and file for a no-fault divorce.

then you can repeat and have even more stuff. much better than working.

My ex was very stingy with his money, he would rather spend it on beer than on taking me out somewhere. After he lost his job he would freeload off of me and at first I didn't mind it but then it just got annoying.

Seriously why would a girl date a guy with no money ( unless she's young and hasn't experienced otherwise). What does a man have to offer when they're broke?

This probably means he has no car or gas money. Can't pick you up or take you out to places whenever its available. Can't treat you to anything that you wouldn't be able to treat youself to, then once a decent guy who has more to offer comes along its sayonara to you.

And yes money does have something to do with the guy. When a guy has a job he's more disciplined, more mature. You have to have those qualities to keep a steady job. He respects the woman and can treat her like she's worth something. And treating her like she's worth something doesn't mean spending tons of money on her all the time. Just a guy who gives her what she needs and simple treats every once in a while are guys worth looking for.

For starters, some women are shallow like that. not all. I personally don't care how much a guy makes. well I guess that's not entirely true since I sometimes get insecure if he makes way, way more than me. I do, however, like to know that he's not going to just sit there and mooch off me. Also, a job is really important to me because it suggests that he does something other than sit on his ass and mope all day.

That said, it's easier for men to make big money than for women. Women still make .75 cents to the dollar compared to what men would make doing the exact same job. Also, in many professions men still hold the majority of the highest paying jobs. Sure, they're are lots of exceptions but they're definitely not the rule.

I think for most part this is a negative stereotype against women and just represents some women. I don't think most care that much so long as you have a job- Read: You don't sit around all day and can support yourself. Though it's a bit better if you can maybe even afford to treat her occasionally, too. (It makes her feel special).

I'm not attracted to money in particular. I like men with stability and direction, not so much so that I rely on them, I've just dealt with men in the past who complain about going no where in life and I find it terribly unattractive.

Most women I know intend to go out and make their own living, provide for themselves, I think the idea of being reliant on a man kind of frightens them.

And no money isn't part of anyone, but sometimes women intend to be stay at home mums, (or dads)

Also women can't make the same money as men, in certain jobs where the employer could care less about who you actually are and you're only working for chump change then maybe they can earn the same as their male counterparts, but for the most part they don't.

Why do men have the misconception that all women are interested in is money?
