I wear them on a near constant basis in addition to band t-shirts and black fitted button-up shirts. If they look neat on you than far be it from others to make a judgment on you or your taste in clothing; that kind of logic that wearing a jersey making you look slovenly is idiotic given that any other garment could do the same if it were stained, creased etc.
Speaking for myself, I have an immense collection of new and retro jerseys and I tend to wear a tighter fit in those to accentuate my build. I think I look great in them-I'm told as much also by others so I'll take that and keep doing what I do. As for the others who don't like it-they're the least of my concerns and don't even register as a blip on my proverbial radar.

I have 52 soccer jerseys, mostly from national teams and some club teams. If I look like a slob or not, I don't care, I bought them for me. I'm not going out looking for people's acceptance and to fit in. Some guys wear 200 dollar pairs for shoes, women spend that amount on purses, its your money, do what you want.
Slobs? Nah! I see a LOT of guys wear the jerseys to show their love for a certain team or player. I think it's a cool form of expression. Now, if the jersey in question had mustard, dirt, ketchup and a collection of other stains on it then I'd agree with your friend.
In addition, I think it would be even MORE fascinating to see a guy with a mohawk wearing a football jersey. :O
I think if you wear it to support someone around the game that's one thing.
If you wear it for a special event, eg. you're going to play football, that's another.
If you wear it round the house because it's the only thing that stretches over your beer belly... now THAT'S unattractive.
Eh - I don't know.
I don't find it attractive - but at the same time, I don't find it unattractive. Most my guy friends, at least the ones who are into sports, have a team shirt. As long as you're not wearing it all day everyday, then no, it wouldn't make you look like a slob.
I think nothing of it. It's a jersey. Am I going to be mean to guys that wear football jerseys? Or baseball? No. It's something that they enjoy.

I think guys wearing any type of jersey anywhere outside of their house (unless its to a game) are complete douchebags and I know of many women who find it unattractive. Yes it does make a guy look like a slob in my opinion. It makes me want to say: come on man, don't you have something nice to wear other than an article of clothing made specifically for sports?
I wear printed soccer jerseys with the team name removed. I see it as a statement of hopelessness and chaos.
By printed jersey, I'm assuming it's just a football jersey with a player's name and number?
If so, I have like 4 printed jersey and I wear them on big game days or to a game. Just don't wear them everyday.I don't think you look like a slob, if it's clean and if you have the body for it.
I have a football top for Ireland, and one for Man Utd, and one for Celtic.Well they can't wear them everyday, but being a soccer/football fan myself, I like it. It's not the trendiest thing to wear (obviously) but it's definitely a conversation starter/piece.
Mate, it's football not soccer. And no there is nothing wrong with it.
i have 2 with my name on it. but I don't wear all the time only when I'm around people who know what soccer is. I think its cool. I know for sure those shirts are expensive
Personally I love soccer so I'd think they're instantly cool in my book! =)
I think it's fine just not everyday unless you're in a team.
Since soccer is a girls short it would make you look like a girl.
i love soccer my fav sport. I have a real madrid jersey raul and a US jersey dempsey so its all good.
I sometimes wear like a football or basketball jersey..but I think girls like soccer ones more.
