Why do girls act very strange around me? Blushing, avoiding eye contact etc?

Why is it that 99% of females act very strange around me? They act very nervous, look down when they see me, avoid eye contact, blushing, playing with hair/clothes, voices become higher pitched, and some even tend to stutter around me, or even stumble when walking. Majority of the girls that have had crushes on me act like this, but even females who I don't know that well like work acquaintances act like this. I feel like it is restricting my social life a big deal.

I don't want to seem vain but a few of my friends have said that I am good looking (behind my back, not to me personally). This is just bothering me because the girl I think has a crush on me acts very strangely (like the behaviour I mentioned in first paragraph) and I like her back, but she just can't seem to talk to me because she is too nervous. Can anyone tell me why girls/women act like this around me? Because I like being nice to people and friendly but people just don't seem to talk to me.
Guys also act very hostile/jealous towards me sometimes as well.

Wow, you must be totally hot. Can we see a pic and give you an opinion - ha ha... They probably can't believe someone so gorgeous is talking to them so they get really shy and lost for words. You probably just have to acknowledge that this is a fact and carry the conversation until the girl you are talking to gets over it - just keep asking them questions to make them comfortable. If you are so good looking and a nice guy (you sound like you are) you can probably pretty much have who you want - just don't let it get to your head :-)

Haha thanks... I'll try to do that but girls are so painfully shy around me. She is even shy online/ on Facebook. I feel like I'm cursed :(

Maybe you are so gorgeous that girls are blinded by you... ;D I don't know maybe they just think you are attractive and they cannot form words, attractive guys make most girls nervous but are you ever rude? I don't know though ;o but that girl most likely has a thing for you.

I'm not ever rude no. But I do joke around sometimes, but never anything rude. I think she does! But its just frustrating cause she has such a hard time talking to me. I think its going to have a hard time forming a relationship with her so what do i do?

Honestly, guys that are funny is what really attracts girls generally but just talk to her, you should be confident because you have to be attractive because what else would it be? cause if you were ugly girls wouldn't be blushing :p So I recommend just talking to her next time you see her- try to get her to laugh and impress her but don't try to hard because that is always annoying

she seems to laugh at everything I say even the lamest jokes. I try to talk to her and she responds but she is super nervous around me. She blushes, avoids me eye contact, and even walks faster when she seems me. I can tell by her body language that she is super nervous around me. She also wont' accept or deny me on Facebook :/.. I think she is just nervous that i will look at her photos or something?

then ask around, ask her friends, and you know what just go for it and tell her you like her because I think she is really nervous because she possibly feels that she is not good enough for you and you don't like her so just tell her but first try getting to know her better and try different techniques at calming her- ask her if blahh blahh have you ever done that? hmmm... you could also go in a group and talk to her friends who are next to her and maybe once in a while she will put in some input it is just key to make her as comfortable as you can before asking her on a date or anything like that

her friend hinted toward me that she liked me. She's just super shy. She isn't your typical 'hot girl' but i like her because of her personality and she's really cute, innocent and smart.

awww that is adorable :3 well then talk to her friend about it, girls always get their friends to be matchmakers ;) say to the girl's friend some thing like "I like your friend a lot she is super sweet and intelligent and cute and whenever i try to talk to her she gets really nervous it seems so could you help me etc"

I'll try! But this isn't the first time a girl has liked me and acted exactly the way I described. I feel like I'm going to have a hard time!
