Will my tattoo be a turnoff?

I'm getting my 3rd tattoo done next week and it's going to be a 3/4 sleeve. It's Pink Floyd themed because ever since I was young me and my dad would listen to them together and he would play me songs on his guitar and I fell in love. So essentially it's going to be different images and album covers in a really cool collage style but I'm a little nervous about the reaction it's going to get. It's not that I'm doing this tattoo for anyone else, but I do have a boyfriend who I don't want to find me unattractive after I get it (and he would never tell me he wouldn't like it even if it was the truth because he doesn't want to hurt my feelings). I'm just worried because the subject matter is not feminine of any sort (a lot of the images are from the movie adaptation of The Wall) and I don't want anyone to think poorly of me or my tattoo that means so much to me. So do you think it will be poorly received? I'll post a few of the images I'm having incorporated in for more reference.

Fuck em. The only one you need to worry about in the slightest is your boyfriend, as a source of reasonable support/advice about it, not approval. I'd honestly say if he doesn't like them, he probably wouldn't be with you, and if he'd supportive either way, then that's an awesome partner. I hope you'd return that to him as well.

Tattoos are so personal. I have a professional career, as well as a half sleeve on my left arm, the inside of my left forearm from my wrist to my elbow, and both of my feet. All very personal, and have their meaning to me. People at work either know, or have never seen them. Easy enough to accommodate the audience if it is necessary for work. And if yours means that much to you, then by all means. You have one shot at this life... you'll find some people like it and want to ask you about it, and some who don't like it. That's when you politely remind yourself it isn't for them, smile, nod, and go on about your day.

I personally am a huge fan of Pink Floyd, so hearing about your idea is amazing. Funny enough, I grew up listening to the band with my dad as well. Just recently saw David Gilmour on his Rattle That Lock tour! And going to see Roger Waters this October. Anyways sorry I got off track... Tattoos are fine, a lot of guys actually find them sexy. Can also be a great conversation piece for anyone, especially us Floyd fans. I don't think it's too masculine at all, or makes you any less feminine. He will surely understand this is how you would like to express yourself, and that you are obviously getting the sleeve because it means something to you. He will respect that, i'm sure. You get tattoos for you not for others. It shouldn't matter if it's a "turn off" for others or not. It's important and symbolic for you (yes some people don't find tattoos attractive but they're a minority) if they don't like it well they can hit the road. You don't need that sort of negativity in your life.

I know and I totally want to do it for myself because it's something that means a lot to me, I just wouldn't want my boyfriend to lose any attraction for me just because I wanted a tattoo 😩

I don't think all females should have butterflies and flowers and rubbish inked on their body to stay attractive.. that's just silly. 🤔 but honestly if he's still there after the first 2 and this one has a lot of meaning for you with your father then he should be fine. :)

Okay that's true, and the only difference with this one is that it would just be so much larger and he was a bit startled when I said 3/4 sleeve, but you're right after 2 you would think he would've said something if it was important. Thank you 💕

you should get your boyfriends opinion on getting a full sleeve tat. regardless of the material. Since you brought up "feminine subject matter" My personal belief is that a full or 3/4 tattoo sleeve is not feminine, regardless of the subject matter. But you do you and whats best for you. I'm all for that.

u seem very artistic. the ones that i like the most are butterflys or similar at the top of their inner thigh but that resticts the people who see it. Something small and tasteful

Why thank you. And the main reason I chose this one is because it's something that has been important to me my whole life and that's something I would like to express. Now if I was getting a tattoo just to get one I might go with something like you mentioned just because like you said it's tasteful and it would be feminine but kinda hard to change my ideas when I've been dreaming about this tattoo since childhood ya know? 😂 I just don't want relationship troubles over a tattoo

Maybe, maybe not. Get the tattoo anyways because your body is an empire and you are the dictator. If he doesn't like it, show him the door. It's not ridiculous to have relationship problems over a tattoo. I don't have any tattoos but I plan on getting quite a few. My tattoos are going to be very personal and reflect a part of me, and if whatever guy I'm seeing doesn't like them than I feel he doesn't accept me.

I don't know anything about tattoos but 3/4-sleeve sounds big to me. Much too big. Even if I liked tattoos, the smaller the better. Big tattoo = big turn-off.

No he's aware I just mean if he didn't like the idea he would never tell me because he doesn't want to hurt my feelings so he just says he's fine with it but I don't know that he's being honest cause he has never expressed any desire for tattoos
