Why is it attractive when girls dumb themselves down?

I know people on here complain about girls dumbing themselves down and how annoying it is, but that behavior is quite reinforced which is why so many girls continue to do it. Guys reinforce them. I'm not sure if it's a "if I like a girl or guy, I like them DESPITE their stupidity or faux stupidity" or if it's just a "intelligence is intimidating so I'll go for the dumbass" and then that message is sent to girls all over the place

Mr.Oracle hit the bulls-eye, Men like to feel "Superior" in the relationship.

First off, IF the girl is already very attractive, they already feel intimidated, but if they are smart/Intelligent too, they back off because they feel they can't measure up to be on the same level as them. I won't lie, I'm somewhat intimidated by a beautiful woman, but that's not enough for me to back down from talking to them.

Besides, Nothing is more attractive in my eyes is a confident and respectful beautiful woman, I wouldn't want it any other way.

Whether this is a personal case for you or just a topic, Don't change yourself, Intelligence is attractive, Too many Ignorant people in this world, we don't need another...actually..i might go remove one idiot from this world right now...excuse me for a moment.

I've learned in my 18 years, intelligence isn't AS attractive as stupidity, but I never mentioned anything about changing

oh, I thought you were considering it, if not then! no worries. Women that are intelligent are sexy, something about holding up a good conversation about a topic that actually matters with a woman is nearly breathtaking in my opinion. No one wants to be in a relationship with someone whose intelligence is no different from a sack of bricks.

Mmm, I know girls with the intelligence of a bean and they're in relationships. I know people on this site worship intelligence, cause they're deep and all, but, I noticed every one talks about how annoying dumb people are. Girls who dumb themselves down because a majority of guys reinforce that it's OK. So while it's not the cool thing to do online, in life, it seems to be. I mean, granted there are people who just aren't intelligent and that's fine.

I wouldn't mind just hooking up with a "Dumb" person, but I couldn't date her because they would make a lot of childish mistakes , and I'm not ready to be a parent right now. I guess some people really liking being superior then others , even when it comes to intelligence. I think that person has some insecurities they need to work out till then, they will choose someone "lower "then them in overall things. ITs all a d*** measuring contest, that's all.

I've seen plenty of these kinds of girls in regular relationships as well. What does that mean for the guy? Regular sex.

I agree in that it's not always about sex and sometimes it's about trying to look all "cutesy", but I have no idea how someone could find that endearing. Hence why sex is a good reason to put up with it from an attractive girl.

The only men who find it attractive are when the ones who want a hookup. The reason for this is that stupid girls accept things at face value and don't question what is going on. Basically, they don't have to call and can make up some bull crap lie and the girl is going to either believe it or just not question it There is an easiness about dumb girls because most of the time they are easy to get into bed. Its not genuine interest, its just sex.

-men like the sense of superiority

-men like to be in control - if she's stupid he has to 'take care of her'

-men find it endearing ("aww cute, she doesn't know how to multiply. yay!")

-less intimidating

-easy

etc

I think most guys just want a girl who isn't as smart as they are.

It's basically pretending they are interested in nothing particular, as long as attention is forthcoming for them.

As deducing specific interests would limit the opportunity for begetting attention.

Guys who are insecure tend to feel more confident about themselves if they feel "superior" to the girl in some way. It's crappy, but it's the truth, and it's the main answer to your question.

But also, some guys think, or know from experience, that "not-so-smart" girls are often easy to manipulate into having sex, among other things, so they go after those girls so they won't have to work so hard and so they'll have what they think is a better chance at getting sex.

Girls pick up on this subconsiously, and learn that they get attention from these types of guys by dumbing themselves down. And because those girls are insecure themselves, they feed off of the attention, and are willing to do a lot, including acting like an airhead or have sex, to keep that attention coming.

well I grew up in a privileged neighborhood and went to private schools that really stressed eloquence and articulation while speaking. then I went to college, and a lot of my friends are from the trap so I generally talk in a lot of slang, but if I want to I can speak really well. I guess that's what I'm attracted too as well since its good to be smart but speaking "dumb" just sounds more laid back to me

but to me I loathe it.

Yes, intelligence can be intimidating to an extent but why change who you are for someone else?

I know a lot of girls who are intelligence and they intimidate me. (That's my insecurity though)

Well the majority of people are of average intelligence. People tend to want someone on their level. They want someone that they can keep up with and who can keep up with them. Make sense?

So, an average guy goes for a girl who "dumbs" herself down...that's not going for someone on the same level, so no.

And again, those girls are reinforced, which is why they continue to act dumb or perhaps they just are stupid and can't be mad at them for that

Girls that are of average intelligence don't need to dumb themselves down. It's usually successful intelligent women that feel that the reason they are not getting dates is because guys perceive them as intimidating because of their brain.

In my experience, that's not the reason they are not getting dates. Some girls like to use that as a scapegoat though. =) I think that sometimes intelligent girls can be arrogant, thus when they act stupid, it masks that arrogance and it works. The real problem is not the intelligence, it's the attitude that commonly gets paired along side it. You can be smart and patient/humble and explain things and simplify concepts. Many people find it hard to see their own flaws though.

You can call it PC if you want, the reality though is no one wants someone they see as dumb for a long term relationship. It makes no sense. People try to get the best they can. If a guy is just looking to get laid, then someone who is dumb, naive, slutty, etc. is an easier target. He might f*** her but that is all she is to him.

The only reason guys go for it is because they think the girl is easy because she's so "stupid", so really she's only shooting herself in the foot. That kind of makes her a genuine stupid person instead of a pretend one.
