Before I go full freakout?

I've had a headache for 3 days now. Today, I found a lump on the back of my head, even with my ear, like, where the ear, neck and top part of the skull meet. (if that makes sense?) It sorta feels like when you have a pimple under your skin, but it feels like the size of a mosquito bite. When I touch it, it affects my headache.

Has anyone ever gotten a pimple under the scalp before? is this possible? Should I be freaking out about a tumor?

I'm no doctor but @DanteSparda is. The area that you describe controls the balance of our body & system hence anything even small out there will be painful. The headache could well be because of the 'pimple' cause that's most likely pus formation owing to some internal wound or similar.

Unlikely it's a tumor but no harm in getting it checked by a GP.

Yes I do get pimples / cysts under the scalp especially in the head thanks to having oily skin and inability to bear heat. If I don't shower 3/4 times a day they start popping up basically in the head cause for one I got dense hair and a lot of heat as well perspiration accumulates there :-)

3 days of continuous headache? Go to a doctor.

Touching something like that should never affect a headache under normal circumstances. Do you have any other symptoms? Vision? Balance? Anything?

This has happened to me before. I slightly massaged it and breathed in and out deeply it helped temporarily. But it came because I had a bacterial infection. I would see a doctor however for both reasons check out the lump by itself and if no answers see if you have some sort of infection.

It's probably a really bad pimple. If you've been having a headache that long though I'd still go see your doctor.

Tylenol did nothing.

Advil helped a bit. Today, what I've felt (not counting when touching "it" I wouldn't even really call a headache if it wasn't for the fact I had a headache all of Sunday and Monday, you know?)

Scalp skin is adherent to the bone underlying it.
So slight scratching cause intense pain over a larger area because of extensive nerve supply.

You should first consult dermatologist because according to your description, it may be a boil or a cyst.

when i was about 13, however, i got something quite like it sounds you have. the doctor said it was a 'pea gland', basically an irritation along a nerve which could have come from scratching myself somewhere else, like my jaw or chin. turned out to be nothing and in fact the doctor sent me and my mother home with only the bill. still, for those two or three days leading up to the visit i would catch myself planning my own memorial service.

Okay i've had pimples under my scalp on back of head
where my hair is , it could be cyst , infected pimple

MRI with contrast.. Well, once i got one MRI done
there is nothing to it But you should get that looked at

It sounds like a ganglion cyst (which isn't a big deal by itself), where it's located it's probably putting pressure on your head that is causing the headache. I'd go to a doctor to make sure, but the best thing I can suggest it to get it lanced. That would get rid of the cyst and alleviate the pressure.

A brain tumor would be inside the skull, not under the skin, but there are plenty of other non-tumor things out could be... Bug bite, cyst, infection, etc. You should still see a doctor though, because a headache shouldn't last that long.

You could technically have a tumor on any part of your body, but it's unlikely.

Pimples are possible in the scalp, yes. Usually ingrown hairs rather than pimples though, and those can cause pain and be painful to touch.

Still, go see a doctor.

Sounds like a pimple. If gotten them on the side of the head, edge of the scalp.

I wouldn't worry about that. I believe I've had something similar to that and it's probably just a pimple and when you touch it it acts as a pressure point and makes your head feel weird or like a headache
