Should I just quit or do a two-week notice?

So I am currently waitressing at this restaurant that is a little higher up in class. In the beginning everything was going smoothly, but now I feel like I did something wrong and no one is telling me & I feel this way because it seems that the managers are constantly in a bad mood towards me and act like I can't do anything right. I've had a few insistence where I literally (not trying to sound like I'm all goody goody) but did all the work that had to be done one day and after standing for 5 min I get yelled at and as we were having a meeting was pointed to when my manager was saying "then there's some people who don't do anything at all" which really hurt because she wasn't there all day to see what I had done. Then there was another incident where Me and another girl were doing a party of 40 people and by time the night came our tip came to 177 and since "she was there 2 hours before me" she got more than me. Well I ended up only getting 47 of the 177 and she got the rest. Now I would've understood if she got like 20 more than me but 80 more was unfair (personally) so I am applying for a job that has already called back and pays 8.50 an hour (I want it) should I just quit like the other girls have or should I put in a two week notice? There have been many other problems at work but no one has came to me to help try and correct whatever reason is causing them to be mad at me.

Giving two weeks notice can also be a good sign to a future employer. If you let them know you want the job but need to give two weeks at your current one, they will get a better impression of you as a person and future employee. It certainly sounds like a work environment that can make you feel worse at the end of your day then when you started. It might explain why others have left without notice. I would tender your two week notice in writing. You can list the reasons your leaving, give a specific date as your last day and it might even help you feel a little bit better getting your frustrations out. All that aside, I also feel that mental health is just as important as physical health. If you feel that you are being treated in a way that hurts you mentally, then you have to decide if it's really worth two more weeks of "abuse". Personally, I would tender a written notice regardless if its two weeks or two days.

Do a 2 week notice. You don't want to burn bridges even if it's a crappy job. I know restaurants can have their favorite workers and stuff, I think it is ridiculous but you should give a 2 week notice so you might be able to use them as a reference.

Maybe you should talk to your manager and let them know your worries. They might tell you that nothing is wrong and they're just stressed out or you might be right, then you can take their criticism and learn from it. If you're not happy working there then, by all means, quit and take the other job. But as everyone else said, it's best to give two weeks notice! :)

Put in two weeks notice. It'll be hard, but do it. You don't want them to say that you didn't even give them the courtesy of two weeks notice.

Personally, regardless of the situation it's always best to put in your two weeks and remain professional. You never know in the future if you will desperately need work?
