Do you ever feel guilty about eating meat which was once animals?

Today I was at the library and in front of the only available computer was a little pamphlet from Vegan Outreach with a picture of some chickens on the front. I was about to work on a quiz for a class that is about the meat industry and USDA quality grades and restrictions and retail meat cuts...I found it ironic.

The little chickens looked so adorable, but at the same time chickens aren't actually that cute in real life. Also, most of the chickens in the world wouldn't even exist if they were not bred to be used for human food consumption.

I know some of you are probably vegan and believe in the whole 'meat is murder' thing. What is everyone's opinions about animals for human food consumption and what is your background personally on this issue?
