Should I get surgery to remove the scars or is it not worth it? Does it actually work?
Plastic surgery to remove burn scars. Is it worth it?

If this is thick scar tissue, an alternative is laser therapy. However, I believe it's generally intended for smaller areas of scarring.
Scar tissue is keratin-based. The scar is not composed of living cells. That's why it lasts for such a long time. A normal cell would live, grow, die and shed off. This is why cuts heal and disappear. Scar tissue isn't alive, so it can persist for years.
Laser therapy works by zapping away tiny holes of scar tissue. With multiple treatments, all of the scar tissue will eventually zap away, allowing the underlying healthy tissue to be exposed again.
Mind you, the area you are talking about would be quite large. If you have the $$, you might consider buying the machine yourself and doing your own treatments because it can be quite expensive through a doctor.
This may sound ridiculous. But what about a tattoo? It will cover up scar tissue. As well there are tattooists that specialize in covering scars the will match the ink to your skin colour. How you would find this person I don't know. May be ask your doctor? Or a doctor/nurse that works in the burn unit at a hospital.
If it will make you feel better yes, if you don't mind them and it's others opinions you're worried about then I wouldn't do it. I personally would do it if it were me just because I'm the kind of person who picks at everything about myself. But as I said, if it doesn't bother then that's great.
? Okay, you asked the question. Sorry I was trying to be helpful lol. I was just saying that if the opinions of others is why you're thinking about it, then you shouldn't. Wow usually I expect a hot cut comment when I leave a more controversial answer but alrighty then...
**bitchy not hot cut, don't know how that happened.
It's up to you as you'll sop growing soon so if you didn't go ahead it doesn't matter as your sin won't stretch when you've stopped growing

If it bothers you enough it might be worth it. A friend of mine had a very pockmarked face and she got laser surgery to have it removed. She had to go for about 4-5 sessions and she said it was extremely painful but it did clear up her skin nicely.
Surgery does worke, but first I would try natural remides, and if that doesn't work than try lazer treatment and than if lazer doesn't work and your still ebarrased by them and still want them removed, than I would go with surgery as a last option.
The only one that can answer if it is worth it is you. If you would feel more confident and be happier then I don't see a downside to making yourself feeling better about the way you look.
If this surgery would make you feel better and more confident, I say you should go for it!
