Is it normal for my chin to be itchy when growing beard?

Few days after I shave I find that my chin and part of the cheek on my face starts to get itchy which I assume that means I am growing beard? Is it normal for my chin/cheek to be itchy when growing beard?

I would imagine yes...I know my legs get itchy when the hair comes back after shaving.

My boyfriend and guy friends complain often about how their beards itch when they're in the phase between clean shaven and what they describe as "silky smooth" lol

Yeah I guess its like when a wound is getting healed it itches.

Of course...add the dry winter weather and it will itch. Stay hydrated (water) and use some good moisturizing lotion often.

Yes that's why I've rarely grown any whiskers. They are too itchy.
