Do guys like homemade gifts?

My boyfriend doesn't like them. He just throws it out. Then I read somewhere that immature guys don't like homemade gifts. He says he's immature and also he just doesn't give a f***. So I don't really buy him anything because he either already has it or he buys it himself. So I always just get him a gift card or something me and him can enjoy, like soap and massage bars from Lush.

I actually prefer them. It shows that they had to put a little effort into producing the gift instead of just using money to obtain it. And they are usually one of a kind so that's also nice. I've heard of people who just give their significant others shopping sprees or something of similar nature and that frustrates me because I think it is such a big cop out, especially when the receiver could have bought all the gifts themself. Putting a little thought into a gift shouldn't be that hard especially if you spend time with them all year.

That's the best rant I've had in a while ha. Just wanted to let you know I wasn't taking a jab at you. I'm similar to your boyfriend as I will either buy things for myself or I will just say I don't need anything, so it's hard for people to get me gifts as well.

Homemade gifts are priceless. They aren't manufactured in large quantities. Hell yeah...I want one. I don't care if it's just a piece of paper written with some ink on it. It's worth far more than a watch, cologne. etc ect. It all depends if your man is emotional or not. I guess he ain't...

I think it just means like stupid presents. Like two years ago, I didn't have a job or money. So I just got him a box of things like I put a rubber band in their showing that we're together and no one can tear us apart and other weird things with meaning. It was stupid. But if I had made him something else he could use, then yeah, he'd keep that. But I didn't have the money to get the stuff. Now I do, but I just don't have to time or patience to make anything.

I know this is off topic, but a guy I was dating thought it was weird I kept getting him gifts. Do other guys find this strange? He said it was "different" that I got him gifts. However, I only got him gifts for Christmas and his birthday (They were within weeks of each other)?

It's one thing to not like it. It's a totally different ball game to not APPRECIATE it.

No he's always very nice. Takes me to diinner, pays for it and also if we're shopping together, he'll buy me something or I'll buy him something.

What you're telling me is that he's fine buying your love. What I mean is does he appreciate the time you spend together, or appreciate YOU in general? That's why rejecting the homemade gifts is SO rude. It's unappreciative.

Yeah he appreciates the time we spend together. He loves cuddling with me, watching movies, hanging out with his family and mine and giving massages

Homemade gifts are much, much more precious for me than anything can be bought with money. Because what is presented as a gift is not the gift itself, but the dedication of love and time and much effort put into it enough to feel myself special.
