Am I leading my ex on?

So, I have recently started to hang out with my ex boyfriend again. We are starting to be really, really good friends. He talks to me about his family problems and I give him advice and he does the same for me in return. Having him around is great, but there is just one problem.. I am in a wonderful relationship [which obviously isn't a problem for me!] but I DO NOT want to lead my ex on in ANY way. I care about him as a person and a friend and I don't want to end up hurting him. He knows I have a boyfriend, I talk about my boyfriend CONSTANTLY while I am around my ex...there is NO denying that I give him any signs that he has a chance with me. But I find him saying really strange things to me like "you have a nicer body than her" and "nobody could ever cheat on you" and he even told me the other day that he is sorry our relationship ended and that I was and am still very special to him. I mean, he is genuinely great guy, but is this a little too much? does it seem like I am leading him on? I want to be his friend but I do not want to lead him on or jeopardize the relationship I am in now.

I doubt you are leading him on by offering advice. I believe he is leading himself on, especially in some weird fantasy where you and he begin dating again (this would be in his dreams).

The only thing I disagree with, because it recently affected me - is that by hanging out with your ex, your current Boyfriend will slowly grow to begin jealous and/or start hurting emotionally, which - if he is anything like myself, he will bottle up- which makes you feel less appreciated and makes him feel like you are cheating on him..

Save yourself from all the headaches involved and tell your boyfriend that you are talking to him again. Depending on how your current Boyfriend feels about that gives you the morally correct option of what to do.

It depends on a lot of factors. Has he moved on? How long have you been broken up for? If he harboured feelings for you all this time, they are probably rushing back as you guys hang out.

We have been broken up for two years now, I'm sure he has moved on because he has had a girlfriend since we broke up. It's just awkward whenever he says those things and I don't know how to act because I know he is being nice, but I feel like it is somehow wrong to my boyfriend.

Maybe you should just tell him that comments like that make you feel uncomfortable. He should understand.
