This question sounds confusing, maybe it’s just the way you worded it. Because If someone breaks up with you and says it’s because they aren’t ready, then what do you mean is that the reason? It’s literally being stated?

If they aren’t ready then yes, that’s definitely the reason.

Forget about it. It's over. "It's not you, it's me" is a classic breakup line. There's no point in telling someone why you won't date them, or won't continue seeing them.
