Is it ok to break up if the relationship isn't working due to too much differences?

I just broke up with my girlfriend of 2 years. As we got to know each other better, I've realized there were too much differences and we were arguing more lately.

She still was shocked when I broke up. I wish her the best and hope she finds someone more like-minded. If I would've continued to stay in the relationship then I would've been unfair for both of us.

As much as I love, just loving someone isn't enough when you see it's not really working out.
