You can tell him but do you really want to? Will he respect your emotions or play them off like they don’t matter. If you’re upset and feel like sharing that with the offender I don’t see anything wrong with that as long as they don’t hurt you further.

I think that first, you could tell him about how do you feel about the situation

and then you could explain why... in this case, how his actions made you feel...

then you could also ask about what happened or why did things happen, from his perspective... because he could have a different perspective than yours

I think the best way is to be clear and upfront, and also give him time and chance to ask questions, both should do that... the aim would be clarify things first...

why things happened they way they happened... and then, where things could go in the future, according to the present situation

this is a better start, I think... because he'll know how you feel and it is less confrontational, in case he does not like to be accused of things, even if he's guilty of it... some people respond very wrong to it, and well, you want answers
